Off to College and Back to School

Brynn was busy cleaning and packing last week in preparation for her move up to UND to start college. Come to find out during actual move-in that the color coding was with purpose - she knew exactly what was in each tote based on the color of the label. :-) Our move-in time slot was at 11:30 on Saturday. There is major construction going on in Grand Forks, so we made sure to leave early. We got right in line when we were supposed to and the whole process went so smoothly - we unloaded Brynn's stuff from our vehicles to the lawn in front of her hall and student helpers took it all from there and delivered it right to her room while she and Dana parked. Unleashing the chair! Miffy came to college too. Brynn had calculated all the measurements for the furniture ahead of time and knew exactly how she wanted everything arranged. Kiyah's mom made these cute pennants for the girls. Brynn got everything unpacked while I hung out and Dad went to grab us some lunch to eat back at the dor...

Last of summer

Clara has been doing a bible study group with her cabin mates from iPoint camp, but one of them started school last week, so they have to pause, by the sounds of it. Clara ran into one of them at the pool an afternoon that she went swimming. Clara poking around out in the yard. I have seen so many grasshoppers this summer - this one lurched itself onto the window down in the office while I was working one day. Micah invited Clara to go to the zoo with him one afternoon. Namaste, kids! On a sunset cruise on the side-by-side. Taking the opportunity for a push from Dad. Roger, Jessica and Maizie came up for a visit a couple of weeks ago so we could take some senior pictures for Maizie. I think we got quite a few good ones so far. Of course the guys were grilling some meat. Oops, out of order on the pics - this was Friday night. We always have to have guac. Clara was able to spend a few days at Dead Lake before school starts...which is tomorrow! Separate post coming, hopefully tomorro...

Cousin Camp 2026

Cousin Camp: Mystery was held a bit later than usual this year - in the middle of August, rather than in June. That ended up proving a bit difficult with some campers and a junior counselor helping with harvest. But, a good time was still had by all and it was another successful Cousin Camp, much in thanks to head counselor, Tessa! Night-before prep: After signing one another's camp shirts, we went right into a life-sized family game of Guess Who?  And then on to life size Clue. And then one of my personal Cousin Camp favs, the cooking challenge. In keeping with the mystery theme, each team's ingredients were concealed in a bag until it was time to start. Lots of creative and delicious dishes. Happy campers. :-) Junior Camp Counselor down! Slip-n-Slide kickball with mystery rules. Digging into that dirt cup! Walking over to the storage building for a game of Sardines. I had never heard of it before, but it was really fun - it's basically hide and seek, but the finders hide ...
