Lake + Mom's Birthday + Renaissance Festival

Clara's friend, Micah, and his parents invited us out to their lake place on Lake 7 a couple of weekends ago. We had a great time - and best of all - their cat Ali was there. She is so soft. We stayed for a bonfire and s'mores and then headed back home, but not before some spooky and mysterious storytelling.  We celebrated Mom's birthday with our usual line-up of fish and angel food cake at the lake. My cousin Tammy was able to be there as well as her daughter and son-in-law.  Tessa put together a taste test challenge of different Coke and Pepsi products. Everyone who tried did rather poorly. Haha. Happy birthday, Mom! After the festivities we continued on to our friends' house as we planned to all go to the Renaissance Festival in Shakopee on Sunday. Roger got up early to make us a hearty breakfast. Brynn braided my hair for me. On my way to get myself a cup of mead. Clara found this gold coin when she was climbing up into this tree. Off to College and Back to School

Brynn was busy cleaning and packing last week in preparation for her move up to UND to start college. Come to find out during actual move-in that the color coding was with purpose - she knew exactly what was in each tote based on the color of the label. :-) Our move-in time slot was at 11:30 on Saturday. There is major construction going on in Grand Forks, so we made sure to leave early. We got right in line when we were supposed to and the whole process went so smoothly - we unloaded Brynn's stuff from our vehicles to the lawn in front of her hall and student helpers took it all from there and delivered it right to her room while she and Dana parked. Unleashing the chair! Miffy came to college too. Brynn had calculated all the measurements for the furniture ahead of time and knew exactly how she wanted everything arranged. Kiyah's mom made these cute pennants for the girls. Brynn got everything unpacked while I hung out and Dad went to grab us some lunch to eat back at the dor...
