Dinner poolside

What a nice, warm evening it was tonight. We got Brynn's pool all set up again and ready for the warm weekend ahead. So, we decided to dine poolside tonight as well. Afterward Brynn splashed around in the pool for a while until it was time to go in and take a bath.

What a weekend!

I think this was one of the busiest weekends we've had in a long time...or possibly ever! It was a great one, though. On Friday we celebrated with my best friend, Amanda, as she got married here in Fargo. Grandpa Kim and Grandma Laurie also came to the wedding, and of course, Brynn had a great time bustin' a move at the dance. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding, and I heard that she was not pleased that I was up there at the altar without her. When the ceremony was over, she asked why I was with that "other guy," aka the groomsman. :-)  Amanda bought her a special headband to wear to the wedding. Waving to me at the head table. Brynn dancing with the bride and Grandpa. Saturday morning we headed back home to Fessenden to take in the Wells County Fair. It had been years since I had last been there, and we hadn't ever taken Brynn there yet. I used to be in 4-H, so it was pretty nostalgic for me just to go to the fair itself again, but we als

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to Dana and our own fathers, Kevin and Kim! We had a great weekend at home relaxing, cleaning the house and hanging out. We were able to dig Brynn's pool out for the first time this year, too. Brynn and her dancing partner. Grandma Holly and Brynn attended a wedding dance last weekend, and of course Brynn danced it up. Her dancing partner is one of Papa Kevin's co-workers. Enjoying the big Father's Day breakfast we made.  Packin' heat. Daddy reading the card Brynn made for him.   Daddy got a computer game for Father's Day. Brynn thought it was a book. Daddy trying to steal a kiss.   Trying to talk Daddy into going to Brynn's restaurant of choice, instead of where Daddy chose. We were supposed to let him pick since it was Father's Day. She wanted to go to Taste of Ditaly aka  A Taste of Italy, incidentally  also Mama's favorite restaurant. Father's Day gift Brynn made f

Hello

Today Brynn started her first day at HopeKids Preschool and Daycare which is run by and located inside the church we belong to, Hope Lutheran Church . Brynn was really excited to go today and jumped right into the action when we arrived this morning. I called there in the middle of the day to see how it was going, and they said she was having a great first day and making lots of new friends. There are quite a few girls there compared to boys, which is opposite of what it was at Nancy's. Although she doesn't seem to mind playing with boys, she is so into all things girl, she probably has a hard time convincing the boys to join in with babies, parties and princesses.  When I went to pick her up at the end of the day, she very excitedly came running up to me. She wouldn't cough up much information about her day until Daddy came home; she kept telling me everything was 'secret.' We both asked her if she made any new friends, and she looked at us funny, asking "ho

Good-bye

Today was Brynn's last day at the daycare she's attended since she was two months old. On Monday she will be starting in the preschool room for full-time daycare where we attend church. We are hoping this move will be a good transition for her in a more classroom-type setting before she heads off to Kindergarten next year. She will also be in their after-school program next year, so at least it will already be familiar to her. This week we put some gifts together for Nancy (the head daycare lady) and the two girls who help her. I dropped Brynn off this morning and she was excited to give her gifts. She doesn't seem too sad about leaving, which is good, I guess. I think she is looking forward to starting at Hope. It was hard for Mama to not get a little teary this morning since going to Nancy's for daycare is all Brynn has known. She has learned a lot there and made quite a few friends over these past four years, including her future husband apparently. :-)  I hope to

Redhawks, Lake, Illness

Memorial weekend we stuck around home and took in a Redhawks game, hosted family and friends at our house.  This past weekend Brynn and I were out at Tamarac Lake at my sister's in-laws' lake place. Brynn had a super fun time with the cousins, as usual. It was great lake weather. Yesterday Brynn came down with a nasty bug that had her pretty down and out all day. Grandma Holly came up to take care of Brynn so that we didn't miss any work. Brynn was literally in tears today when it was time for Grandma to go back home. Otherwise, I'm happy to report she's back to her silly self today. Our first Redhawks game of the season. We about froze to death, but we stuck it out for 3 1/2 hours to the 11th inning. We warmed up with some cheese curds, our blanket and a free balloon figurine. Turns out they lost. Bummer. Reagan and Brynn busy down by the water. Brynn helping drive the pontoon and asking Terry 101 questions. Silly auntie. Br
