Family Reunion

On Saturday the Dietz side of the family gathered at my aunt and uncle's lake place on Lake Franklin to celebrate my uncle's 60th birthday and have a family reunion of sorts. It was great weather, good food and my cousin's band Flea-Bitten Tramps played again this year. Cousins: Tessa, Tyson, Me My sissy and me Grandpa's under there somewhere! Today, finally were able to set up the pool for the first time this summer. So that we have nice warm water, we usually snake the hose through our laundry room window and hook it up to the faucet in there. However, midway through filling the pool, the hose broke and sprayed down the laundry room with water.   We replaced hose and got the pool filling again. Then Dana discovered that the pool had a hole in it. Brynn and I ran to Fleet to get a new pool. Finally! Enjoying the new pool.   There's the "dead" one next to the new one. Having a snack: cherries!

Talent Show

Tonight my best friend, Amanda, Brynn and I attended the talent show at the main library downtown with Rosha and her mom. It is put on by the Fargo Public Library and kids in grades 1-12 can sign up to participate. It was a lot of fun and neat to see some of the talent in Fargo-Moorhead. The kids did an impressive job.  This girl won first place in her age group for her dance/baton routine. It was very entertaining. The girls thought so, too. Plotting their strategy for next year. Just kidding.

Red River Valley Fair

We received tickets from Dana's work for a picnic meal, free entrance into the fair and stage event (concert) for either Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. (For those that don't know, Dana started on at Case New Holland in February). So, we chose Thursday night because he wanted to see the band that was playing that night. So, headed out there in 90 degree weather and extreme winds! :-) They had all the same rides Brynn went on at the Wells County Fair. Poor Dana wanted to Brynn to take a pic with him, but she refused. He was excited to show her what he works on at his job - he is in the wheel loader division. I wanted a bunny rabbit sooo bad after going through the animal barns! They are so cute! Brynn trying to run away from the giant bunny. This one isn't a good picture, but she looked so cute all sprawled out and they had a fan blowing on her which made her big tail blow in the air. Ha. I thought of my Grandma Darlene when we saw those lit...

Swan Lake 2013

Today we returned from our week-long annual vacation at Swan Lake Resort near Fergus Falls. We had great weather this year and lots of fun again. A big thank you to Dana's parents for lending us their camper!  We are headed off to the Red River Valley Fair this afternoon. We packed up early at the lake, as Dana needed to go in to work this afternoon.  Playing at the playground at the resort. Brynn LOVED jet skiing again this year. And now she prefers Daddy for a riding partner, as he goes fast! On Monday morning we rented a pontoon on the resort and took it out for lunch and some fishing. We had pretty good luck fishing which was fun. Giving the fish the stink eye. The resort office had ice cream treats so we had one every day! Thanks for the pic, Grandma Holly. Daddy said the sun was in his eyes, but I think he just didn't want to cooperate for a picture. :-) Last ...
