"Snow" Day

Last night we learned Fargo schools were closing in anticipation for today's blizzard. So, today Brynn and I had a "snow" day...we never did start getting any snow until later this afternoon! It was extremely windy, though. We will see what tomorrow brings now. We did have a fun day at home. Snuggles with Dad (last night). We had a lot of time today to make more bunny crafts. ....and to play Play-doh! Making monster cookies I think we listened to "Let It Go" from the 'Frozen' movie about 32 times. Here she is dressed up as Elsa (I think? I haven't actually seen the movie myself) and getting ready for a performance of the song.

Happy Birthday, Auntie Tessa!

Happy early birthday to my sister! What a fun weekend of surprises. Tessa's 30th birthday is coming up on April 9th, but we had planned a motel swimming weekend with her family and my parents already, so Chad decided to plan some surprises for Tessa and make it an early birthday celebration. He arranged for our good family friend and Ben's godmother, Jenna, to fly in Saturday afternoon. I managed to blindfold Tessa on the way to the airport and Jenna and I revealed the surprise when Jenna got into the backseat of my car. We spent some time at the spa in the afternoon and joined the rest of the family and more of Tessa's friends for dinner. The kids had fun swimming at the motel and hanging out with Grandpa and Grandma. They all even had a sleepover in Grandma and Grandpa's motel room...but not sure how much you can really call it a 'sleep'over, as I don't think Brynn slept much, nor did she let Grandma sleep much either. Probably the reason why I had to wak

Last Weekend

Last weekend we were in St. Cloud visiting our friends there. They have two kids around Brynn's age. Brynn and Maizie are both into princesses, so they had an especially fun time dressing up and being girly together. This one wasn't from the weekend, but prior to that. Sorry; it was taken with my phone and is kind of hard to see. It was just so cute to see her reading with her blanket in her rocking chair. Then she got the giggles after she read that book because she said "amen" at the end instead of "the end."  Maizie and Brynn making cupcakes. Brynn made a headband out of hair clips. (Love those dimples!)

Ultrasound Update

Well, I was wrong!!  :-) I won't make you scroll through all these ultrasound pics to share that we are having a GIRL! Wow, was I surprised...in a good way! The technician was pretty confident (more than when we had our US with Brynn) and said she would be very surprised if it came out a boy.  It was a great appointment and so fun to see what she is up to in there. She was moving and kicking around a lot and got the hiccups. Everything looks perfect, so that was great to hear as well. It was so amazing to see her heart beating; it seems so much more real now.  Brynn was a very excited big sister when she found she was getting a sister.  Now we just can't wait to hold her, of course. Her legs are not actually as short as they look here; they're just kind of folded up, I guess. Oh yeah, and today was also St. Patrick's Day! I wasn't really planning on doing anything at home as far as leprechaun shenanigans, but I had a chance to sl

Sunday Update

The weather seemed to finally be showing signs of Spring this week. So one night we did make it out for a walk. When we got back, Brynn got out her sidewalk chalk. She challenged Dana and me to a drawing contest of which she would be the judge. I drew this bicycle below (which was the winner, by the way). She added to her drawings with her own embellishments. Dana's drawing.  Brynn's friend Haylie is over playing this afternoon. Before she arrived, Brynn was doing some painting.

BUMPdate: 18 weeks (and more!)

Here I am to 18 weeks! Getting closer to half-way. I am still getting sick in the mornings, but am so grateful still because I am feeling better the rest of the time. I can feel movement now which is even more exciting.  And this week we made our first purchase for the baby: a new car seat. Since it's been over six years since we've had Brynn, the car seat we used for her has now expired. We just got back into town today and it was on our doorstep. We opened up and really liked it, so hopefully baby will too. On St. Patrick's day we have our next appointment which is the 20-week ultrasound where we hope to learn the gender of the baby. Right now, it seems the consensus is BOY! Here are the reasons why I think so - if you would like to leave a comment at the end, I'd love to know others' guesses as well. I will definitely post on the 17th with the verdict. I wasn't sick this long with Brynn. At my last appointment the heart rate was in the 140s (&qu
