Happy 12th Birthday, Brynn!

Our Brynnie is 12! For her birthday dinner, she chose Olive Garden with Italian donuts for dessert. They were super yummy. They reminded me of beignets..I think they pretty much were the same. Last Friday night we had a couple of Brynn's friends over for a 'Nailed It' party. It's a show on Netflix where contestants try (and usually fail hilariously and miserably) to re-create amazing cakes. So, I made a taco cake that they had to decorate to try and match mine. I had already baked the cakes, so all they needed to do was frost/decorate. Since Brynn was one of the 'contestants,' she didn't know what the cake was in advance. It was about as entertaining to watch them as it is watching the actual show.  My cake... Leah, the redhead on the left, was the winner! You can see Brynn mouth something during the middle of our singing...it was the most tween thing ever. Haha. We were singing 'happy birthday, Brynnie,' an...

Christmas Vacation

Our Christmas vacation bucket list didn't exactly turn out as we had all planned, but we still had a good time. Brynn was practicing up on 'Silent Night' so she and uncle John could play together, but I think they never did end up playing it for us. And actually, side note, over break we decided that Brynn will no longer continue guitar lessons. Her heart just didn't seem to be into it and she has been busy enough with school, confirmation and gymnastics.  The girls had a lot of fun playing with their new gifts. We had planned on taking cookies to the children's hospital, but you aren't able to go room to room because of privacy reasons. However you can leave store-bought cookies in the family room. Brynn wasn't as excited about that idea, so we scrapped the whole plan. Skate City ended up not panning out either, for no particular reason and neither did the planetarium at MSUM as they only have shows during certain dates (none of which we...

NYE

Since we had already celebrated Christmas with Dana's family during the weekend, that left us open with no plans for New Year's Eve. Brynn invited her friend over and Amanda and Adria came for a visit as well. Brynn and her friend played outside for a bit.  That's Brynn under the boxes and bags. Brynn had made some photo props using my Cricut. I can't stop laughing at these pictures. These kids were excited for 2020. The girls all did a dance-off competition which Amanda and I judged. Only Dana and I made it to midnight to ring in the new year and we were about 10 minutes behind in wishing each other a happy 2020 as I was watching TV upstairs and he was playing computer games. Ha. Here's to a great year ahead!
