Water Weekend

We had another great weekend in the water! My sister's in-laws were nice enough to have us out at their lake place again on Tamarac Lake. Brynn and I had our first ride on Super Mabel...and it was awesome! It's like riding on a couch on the water.  Brynn even rode on my jet ski with me quite a bit and the cousins had a great time playing together again. Brynn got so tired out, I couldn't even change her into her PJs before she crawled into bed that night. She woke up a little confused as to why she still had her clothes on.

We celebrated Father's Day with Dana by hanging out at home. Brynn spent most of the day in her new pool. We had such a fun day together; we didn't even eat one meal in our kitchen. We made Daddy breakfast in bed for Father's Day which ended up with all three of us eating in bed together. It was so nice outside, we had lunch and supper "poolside." ;-) Brynn made a kite for Dana at daycare and was pretty proud to give it to him yesterday.

Chad and Reagan on their jet ski and Brynn and me on mine.
Brynn kept trying to take over on the steering.

Reagan looks worried. Probably rightfully so.

Brynn even got to help drive the pontoon.

Brynn in her new pool. It is so awesomely large,
especially compared to her old one.

Hopefully not a case of heat exhaustion. :-)
It was really hot when we were first out there!

She was such a little fish in that pool; so cute.

Taking a quick break to get a bite of Daddy's ice cream.

Packin' heat with the "shoot gun" aka squirt gun.

Giving Daddy a blow-out.

Haha! Great update. Love that last picture. That pool is huge! Hope we can come over and try it out. Her little bikini is adorable. That picture of them in those green chairs...I am just flashing ahead like 10 years to them sunbathing out there and chatting away.

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
