Arrivals

It seems Spring has arrived! As I'm sure everyone else has been doing, we've made it outside to enjoy the weather every night this week so far.

The other arrival was Brynn's new baby cousin, Benjamin! We were able to go to Bismarck last weekend and see him in the hospital. He is so cute and sweet; Brynn was so excited to meet him. She was a little wary at first, and before we left I had asked her if she was going to hold him, she told me "No! I'm only four!" But the second day we went to visit him, she was much more confident and wanted to hold him, touch him and give him kisses. She kept commented on how cute he is. Of course she had a million questions for my poor sister. Brynn learned a lot last weekend because my sister answered them all for her.

First ride on her new bike.

Yes, she is wearing five headbands.

Fun with sticks!

Riding to the park.

Down the slide with Monkey.

I foolishly thought she would be done with the baby swing this year. Alas, she actually still fits.
Although I think she looks like a giant in there now.
There's that smile for her favorite park activity.

I don't know if they've been working extra hard on their manners at daycare, but Brynn has been calling Dana "sir" this week. And I handed her a cup in the car today, and she responded with "my pleasure."  A little backwards, but I'll take it.

Then we were in Wal-mart today and this conversation took place:
Brynn to me: Hi, Sir!
Me: I'm not a 'sir,' I'm a 'ma'm.'
Brynn: You're not a man, you're a gril (what she calls a 'girl.')
Me: No, ma'aM, not man. A sir is a man and a ma'am is a woman.
Brynn: I just want to call you woman....

We get home and finish eating supper. She brings her glass up to the counter and says, "here you go, woman."  :-)

You have one funny young lady. Love the story at the end. And I had to do a double take before I read the caption of the 5 headbands... looks uncomfortable, but must not bother her. The little tag along bike rack is so cute to bring her "friends" with for rides. She is so adorable. Glad you are enjoying the nice weather.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
