Swimming Lessons

Brynn started swimming lessons again at Dragon Swim School (MSUM). The last time she did lessons there, she had just turned three. Last round hadn't gone very well, as the other girl in her class fizzled out about getting into the water and participating, so then Brynn didn't want to do it either. This time, though, she assured me that she was going to participate because now she is 4 1/2! Ha. She did seem really pumped to go. Tonight was her second time. There is only one other kid her class - a boy named Carter.   It has been such a difference this time over the last time she had lessons. She did pretty much everything her teacher asked her to do, except she didn't want to put her head in/under the water.  Those two just swim their little  hearts out the entire time. It's so funny to watch.  This time Daddy is able to come from work to watch, too, and she likes that both of us come to watch her.  When we are done, she asks me when she is coming back. (It's ju

Lake Fun

I was Brynn's bridesmaid the other night. I let her use my veil.  We had our annual Dietz family picnic at my aunt and uncle's lake place in Minnesota yesterday. It was great weather. We all gathered around after lunch to listen to my cousin's band, The Flea Bitten Tramps . Reagan and Brynn really got into the music. Click here  to see their moves and to hear some of the music.

Hazel's Baptism

As usual, Hazel came to church with us this morning, and as we were walking down the aisle to find a seat, Brynn had to point out the baptismal font up front. She is always interested in her own baptism, and with the recent baptism of baby cousin Benjamin, it has been on her mind even more so, I'm sure. During church she said she was going to "splash water on my baby's head." When we got home she mentioned it again and I asked her if she was going to baptize her baby, or just wash her head. She said she was going to baptize her. So, we dug out our own baptismal font so she could baptize Hazel. It was going along well and then I asked her if she promised to teach her baby about God. She sighed and said 'no.' LOL. A little while back Brynn heard the song  "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen  on the radio. From time to time, I'll hear her singing the "call me maybe" part around the house. Today on the way back from Wal

Swan Lake 2012

We returned to Swan Lake  again this year for another week of vacation. We were again able to borrow Dana's parents' camper to use at the resort which works out so nicely. (Thanks again to Holly and Kevin for letting us use it all week!) We  had really good weather with the exception of a couple of windy days, but no rain.  This year I talked Dana into renting a pontoon so we could tool around the lake a little and try to catch some sunnies for me! We got skunked big time, though. Oh well, we still had fun out there. Grandpa and Grandma came along, too.  The resort put in a fancy new playground set this year, so of course we spent a lot of time over there. Brynn was into riding my jet ski with me a lot more this year which was really fun. We rode jet ski every day and the only time I rode mine alone was when I put it into the water when we arrived.  With all the time she spends playing outside on a daily basis, plus this week outside, she has gotten quite tan. Or a

Afternoon with friends

This afternoon we invited some friends over to enjoy the pool and try to beat the heat. We had a good time swimming, watching the kids play, and grilling.  Brynn enjoying a smoothie on our deck after church. Brynn and her friend Karlie. Daddy hooked up the wagon so Drew could have a ride, too. And Monica. :-) We have fun.
