Catching Up

I knew it had been a while since I last posted on the blog, but I guess I hadn't realized almost an entire month has gone by. I could say it's because we've been super busy every weekend in between, but almost just the opposite actually. We've had a nice month hanging around home, getting things put back together after birthday gatherings and the holidays.  When it finally was nice enough one Friday afternoon, Dana and Brynn made it outside for some snow angel action.   We've also been preparing for the big trip to Disney World. We had to make a countdown chain, of course! We also got Brynn's suitcase almost packed this past weekend. Brynn went with me when I took pictures of Dana's co-workers' family (both the husband and wife work at Fargo Automation) on Saturday in the Skywalk downtown. Brynn thought it was pretty cool. While we were waiting for the family to arrive, I took some quick pics of Brynnie. Br...

Happy 5th Birthday, Brynn!

Happy 5th Birthday to our little Brynn Marie! What a day! I took some video right away of her this morning. She had to try on her princess shoes to make sure they still fit..being five and all now, ya know. :-)  Good Morning I ran over to preschool during their snack time which is when the birthday kid gets to share his/her treat with the class. Brynn chose M&M cookies to bring. It was so fun to just go and sit in there with her for a little while. It was pretty funny, of course. The kids were all excited that it was her birthday. This morning Haylie (one of the party guests from last Friday) even sang her happy birthday when she arrived to preschool. How sweet! Passing out cookies to the kids. They are divided up into three groups for certain activities and eating. They switch up the groups each month. This month Brynn and these kids are in Robyn's group/room. Sequoia and Bubba coming in to thank Brynn for the cookies and wish her a happy birthday. ...

Princess Family Party

Today we celebrated Brynn's birthday with family and some friends at our house. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. We all had a great time. It's hard to believe another year has gone by and our little "grill," as Brynnie says, is already five years old. (Pause while Mom grabs her Kleenex!) She got so many nice things today. She was sure busy after the party playing with all her new things.  Putting the finishing touches on the cake.   Brynn and I were hard at work thinking of a centerpiece idea the other night. It was really hard to come up with something from each of the princesses' movies. We did come up with the "poisoned" apple from Snow White, frog from Princess  & The Frog, the domed rose from Beauty & The Beast, glass slipper from Cinderella, sea shell for The Little Mermaid and the hair for Tangled.  Giving hugs to all the guests.   Video of Brynn blowing ou...

Princess Makeover Birthday Party

Tonight Brynn had her friends party at our house. She invited Rosha and Haylie whom she knows from preschool, and Karlie, our family friend. I was pretty much laughing at them the entire time because it was just so funny to listen to them interact with each other and the things they would say. Brynn said she had a great time. We  had lasagna and corn with garlic toast; Brynn's favorite, and then the cupcakes that Brynn and I made earlier this week. Brynn wanted it to also be a princess 'makeover party,' so all the girls were in princess gowns, tiaras and we did their nails with glitter polish. The girls also received lip gloss in their party favor bags. Brynn had also wanted to "Just Dance," so after they played a bit, they rocked out to the Wii. Man, did they have some moves! That was pure entertainment for Dana and me for a half an hour solid. They all knew all the moves and the words to every song! Here is the video of Brynn blowing out her birthday candl...
