Happy 5th Birthday, Brynn!

Happy 5th Birthday to our little Brynn Marie! What a day! I took some video right away of her this morning. She had to try on her princess shoes to make sure they still fit..being five and all now, ya know. :-)

Good Morning

I ran over to preschool during their snack time which is when the birthday kid gets to share his/her treat with the class. Brynn chose M&M cookies to bring. It was so fun to just go and sit in there with her for a little while. It was pretty funny, of course. The kids were all excited that it was her birthday. This morning Haylie (one of the party guests from last Friday) even sang her happy birthday when she arrived to preschool. How sweet!

Passing out cookies to the kids.

They are divided up into three groups for certain activities and eating. They switch up the groups each month. This month Brynn and these kids are in Robyn's group/room.

Sequoia and Bubba coming in to thank Brynn for the cookies and wish her a happy birthday.

Singing happy birthday to Brynn!

Dancing to the happy birthday song.

Brynn decided to have her birthday meal at Texas Roadhouse tonight. She got up on the saddle for the whole deal, but as you can see at the end of the video, she got a little freaked out and bolted off the saddle. It was too funny. YEE HAW!

After we got home from the restaurant, it was time to find out what the big surprise was! Brynn is going to Disney World! She talks about going almost every day, so it seemed like in her head she already thought she was going; and to her it was just a matter of when, rather than if. So, we weren't sure how excited she would be. You never know what her reaction to things will be sometimes, and it did seem a little lackluster according to what you see in the video, but by the time I put her to bed tonight, she was asking a lot of questions about going and says she is very excited now. I can't wait either!

(this is what her note looked like)

And, to top it all off, she got a birthday phone call from Cinderella herself!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
