Christmas 2013

This year we were with my side for Christmas and my sister hosted both Christmas eve and day. We had a wonderful holiday and hope everyone else did, too! Pretty girls Mom got a new pair of Reeboks.  The girls loved the sweatshirts they got from Great-Grandma Darlene. Selecting the cookies for Santa. Reagan crafted the letter on behalf of all the kids. We smooshed our stockings in with the Weckerlys. On Thursday was my Grandma Dorothy's 85th birthday, so we celebrated with her at my parents' house. Brynn has been waiting for a day warm enough to make a snowman. That day finally came yesterday! Daddy and Brynn working on the bracelet loom Brynn got. All tuckered out. I laid down on the couch after supper, and woke up to find Brynn also sleeping below me. Daddy just carried her off to bed a little bit ago. Christmas is hard work.

Visiting Santa

Last night my mom, sister and I went to our first Blenders concert at the Fargo Theater. I have always wanted to see them. They did put on a good show and are really talented.  While we were doing that, Brynn and Daddy went out to eat at MichaelDonald's and then out to the movie 'Frozen.' Brynn said she really liked the movie and has been talking about it all day. Today we finally made it out to visit Santa! This year we went to Santa Village at Rheault Farm where you get to not only visit Santa, but decorate cookies with Mrs. Claus and see the reindeer and more.  I asked her what she asked for then and she said a 'make-over kit,' which I think means make-up stuff. I thought she was going to ask him for a Belle ornament and she said she forgot and she would ask for that next year. Hopefully she does still want that, too, because I have a sneaky feeling that is what Santa is bringing her. ;-) Mrs. Claus telling jokes.

Christmas Updates

Unfortunately last week some of our Christmas season plans were waylaid when Brynn came down with a virus. She was to have her first school program last Thursday, but that was the day she became ill. We were all pretty disappointed, and I had been looking forward to seeing her first school performance. She was supposed to sing in church on Sunday, but we decided to let her sleep in and get her rest  instead. She was feeling a little better Saturday morning for a while and helped Daddy make breakfast. You can kind of see her face looks a little weird in the first two pictures - she developed a rash after her fever broke.  On Sunday she said she felt well enough to go with me to our friend's house for a girl gathering to bake Christmas goodies. Helping or just eating? Both! Brynn is fully recovered now and did make it to her last program which was tonight. This is her HopeKids asp (after school program) concert. Singing next to Rosha. She was sup
