Christmas Updates

Unfortunately last week some of our Christmas season plans were waylaid when Brynn came down with a virus. She was to have her first school program last Thursday, but that was the day she became ill. We were all pretty disappointed, and I had been looking forward to seeing her first school performance. She was supposed to sing in church on Sunday, but we decided to let her sleep in and get her rest  instead.

She was feeling a little better Saturday morning for a while and helped Daddy make breakfast. You can kind of see her face looks a little weird in the first two pictures - she developed a rash after her fever broke.

On Sunday she said she felt well enough to go with me to our friend's house for a girl gathering to bake Christmas goodies.

Helping or just eating?

Both!

Brynn is fully recovered now and did make it to her last program which was tonight. This is her HopeKids asp (after school program) concert.
Singing next to Rosha.

She was supposed to be saying a part in the story of Jesus' birth, but
it looked like there was some confusion or something. After they got that straightened out she said her line.

Brynn and Abby. Abby was one of her preschool teachers and still baby-sits for us sometimes.

After the program they had treats and crafts.

Tasting the final product.

Had to get a pic with Rosha; though I don't know why they had to pose with this sign.

This was a few nights ago. Dana and I were visiting at supper when we looked over and saw Brynn had been busy with her nuggets and mac-n-cheese. Goofball.

Glad you're feeling better Brynn! I wish we could have been at your program this year. I sure had fun last December when we got to spend a few days together and go to your programs and gymnastics!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
