Updates

I forgot to update after Clara's 15-month check-up about a week and a half ago. She is healthy and doing great! She is still on the small end of the spectrum at 18 lbs. But she packs a lot of fire into her little body. :-) She kept hitting my face the other day and I kept pulling her hand away and telling her 'no.' Then I reminded her to be nice to Mommy in which she responded with a big hug. Hard to stay angry with those loves.

This picture below is our typical morning. Every morning. Just like Brynn used to, Clara loves to watch me put on my make-up in the morning. She even pretends to dab the brush in the blush and put it on her face. Haha. Always crack me up. Or she likes to dump the entire contents of my make-up bag out onto the counter, like below!

A little throwback Thursday action here....hopefully we don't end up in the same situation as Brynn got herself into at just a little bit older than Clara is now. :-)

Bath times! Clara gets so crazy kicking her legs and splashing in the tub. She's such a little fish:

"where's your tongue?" All clean!

We had parent-teacher conferences for Brynn last night and she had a very good report! We're so grateful that she's doing so well in school. I thought my sister had a good idea to mention the upcoming events for this holiday season on her blog, so I figured I would throw ours out there too! I am unsure on a couple of the times at this point, but if you are thinking of attending, you can let me know and I'll update you with the time once I know.

December 1st - School Holiday Concert - evening
December 19th - Holiday Piano Recital - during the day sometime
December 20th - Sunday School class sings during the 9:30 church service

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
