Back to School: Third Grade

Brynn was excited to start third grade this year and was even more so after meeting her teacher, Mrs. Smith, at back-to-school night last night. She found out a couple of her good friends are in her class, so she was pretty happy about that. Brynn and Mrs. Smith Mrs. Smith had a little project for the students to work on and bring back for the first day of school today. I'm so thankful that she obliges me with first-day-of-school pics. :-) My big girl in third grade! Haha - Clara had to weasel her way into some pictures. She had no clue what in the world was going on. The new benchmark in first day of school transportation. Yeesh. I am happy to report Brynn had an excellent first day! I had to hightail it outta there when I dropped her off because I started to get emotional. Brynn did great, though, and only mentioned some butterflies in her tummy when we were getting out of the car at school.

End of Summer

Summer is noticeably winding down as some leaves have started to fall off the trees and the days are already getting shorter.  We have been getting ready for school to start again which happens tomorrow! But first Brynn spent a long stint at Grandpa and Grandma's cabin and both girls have been spending as much time outside as possible, soaking up the last warm days. These first two pics were a couple of photos my mom had forgotten to send me from when the girls stayed with them several weekends ago. I just get the biggest kick out of this first one - Brynn's face is just a classic 'Brynnie look' and Clara with her pointing at that frog stuck to the door. My dad kept laughing at Clara with that frog, as she came to him and said, "come see frog, Papa."  One fun thing Brynn was looking forward to doing during the week she was at Grandpa and Grandma Froemming's lake was helping family friend Claire celebrate  her birthday. Here they are together

RedHawks Game & Lake Time

On Friday night we went to the RedHawks game courtesy of Case New Holland, as Dana's work had given us tickets and a whole lotta Hawks Bucks for us to spend at the game. It was Clara's first time at a baseball game. I think she had fun, but we did end up leaving in the seventh inning. We blew most of our Hawks Bucks on food. Between all of us we had 3 brats/hot dogs, 2 pizza slices, a bag of cookies, 1 ice cream cone, 1 bag of cotton candy, pretzels, and Dippin' Dots. We were full. :-) And we still had some Hawks Bucks left to put toward a t-shirt for Mom. Saturday morning we headed out to Dead Lake to spend the rest of the weekend. In fact the girls are still there now, spending a couple of extra days with Grandpa and Grandma. It was a gorgeous day today and naturally I found myself in the hammock. Brynn thought it was hilarious how my bun fit right though the holes.
