Several weeks ago our invitation to Cousin Camp arrived from auntie, I mean, Counselor Tessa. They girls were pretty excited and even chatted with Tessa on the phone about what crafts we should do and what foods should be part of the food challenge.
The girls and I went to camp early, arriving on Wednesday night, so that we could work on the campers' t-shirts.
On our way, I stopped to fill gas in Carrington. Apparently Brynn waved at a police officer passing by and when I stopped at the station, the police officer gave both Brynn and Clara sticker badges.
Campers arriving!
We had a record attendance this year with 16 actual campers, not including baby campers who were with Grandma Wanda. We also had two more counselors, two of the cousin moms. :-)
Getting acquainted and go over the camp rules and schedule for the afternoon/evening.
Decorating their shirts.
The campers had a snack, did some playing and swimming and before long it was time for the talent show after supper.
Brynn's talents: Chinese jump rope and gymnastics.
Even big kids participated. ;-)
It was really hot out on Thursday, so the kids were back in the pool after the talent show.
Chubby Bunny contest and s'mores. Brynn won the prize for Chubby Bunny.
Day Two! We started off the day with breakfast and then went into our craft of jewelry making and decorating family camp frames.
Discussing strategy for my fav part of Cousin Camp: the food challenge!
The campers plowed right through all of Tessa's food challenges, which included SPAM (everyone's fav...that is sadly no joke), water chestnuts, dates, lentil snacks and more, and she actually had to go dig for a few more for the sudden death round. Hard core kids!
Two-time reigning champion is Cayden!
Cheeto Hair Game
Oliver really wanted some Cheetos.
Brynn and Sierra were the winners of this challenge.
Egg Toss Game
The Juicing Game (you squeeze the juices from an orange and lemon and see who squeezed the most).
And before we knew it, camp was over! It was another great camp this year. I think the little campers had fun. Tessa always does such a great job planning everything. And it was a great help to have Tia and Ashley as counselors this year as well. Success!
That afternoon and evening we just hung out at Tessa and Chad's which was fun.
