Easter 2019/Ollie's Birthday

Dana had Good Friday off of work and I decided to take a day of PTO as well. For the first time ever, we dyed eggs at home. We started off outside, but the wind was a little chilly so we moved indoors.

That afternoon we headed out to Tessa's for the Easter weekend. We stopped in Carrington to have supper with Grandpa and Grandma...and check out the baby chicks at Runnings.

...and gang up on Grandpa with foam swords.

Not long after we arrived at Weckerlys' place, we were out by the fire for some Peeps s'mores.

The moon was so interesting that night; it quickly was rising and in an oval-looking shape. My camera didn't capture very good pics of it.

Due to nasty weather back in March, we weren't able to celebrate Ben's birthday with him, so we finally brought him his present, part of which was this Break the Ice game. I remember playing it when I was a kid!

Saturday morning, Wanda (Uncle Chad's mom) put together an egg hunt for the younger kids in Hurdsfield and a resurrection hunt for the older ones. The kids also got to each choose a prize and have some yummy lunch before heading back over to aunt and uncle's house.

Saturday afternoon we celebrated Oliver's third birthday at his 'Cars' themed party.

I heard Skittles are his fav candy.

Clara asking 'pleeease, can I have another cupcake?'

Ben, Dana and Chad were having fun with this giant Jenga game after the party was over.

Sunday morning the girls got up and found their baskets before we headed to a very nice church service at Chad's family church.

Good thing Dana, Ben and Chad practiced up on giant Jenga the day before, because a big tournament broke out after Easter dinner.

Yay! The Easter Bunny came again this year.

The bunny left some eggs outside...

Thanks to Tessa and Chad for hosting another wonderful holiday!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
