Lake Franklin and Outside

A couple of mornings in the past couple of weeks it's been foggy over the river. So pretty. As I started out on my run one morning, I was greeted by a rainbow...only then to get rained on the rest of the time I was out there. :-/ Clara was proud of this block tower she built at school. Last Saturday we got together for our annual gathering at Lake Franklin. It was beautiful weather. We were just missing having my sister and her family there with us. Clara entertaining Grandma. :-) Clara was the only one who swam. She was having a grand time in there, wading around and getting up on the ladder all by herself. Uncle Lester and Auntie Shelly came to spend the night with us on Sunday...and we were treated to Shel's famous chimichangas. Shelly made them up and Dana was the fryer, while Shelly supervised. So yummy. Bed time story...and snack. Clara "helping" me make supper one night. They had a campin...

Vegas Trip

I am way behind on blogging, but here finally is our Vegas trip that we took a couple of weeks ago. We flew out Friday evening, but our flight was delayed about an hour and a half out of Fargo. Luckily we found out before we left for the airport. Arriving in Vegas. So, we landed in Vegas after a direct flight from Fargo around 11:00 PM. I didn't take my camera, so all the pics were just from my cell phone. We hadn't planned a long trip and would be flying back out on Monday afternoon, so we tried to make the most of our time. I had been awake for about 23 hours at this point, with the time change and all, so that was about it for me! We stayed at the Flamingo which was really busy. We tried to spend as much time in the pool there as possible since the heat was ferocious. I think the highest it got was 112 degrees. We had made reservations for ...

Fourth of July

Unrelated to the Fourth holiday, but I thought I'd just stick this in this post...on June 26th we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. I was especially surprised to get flowers, a card and a treat because we are headed to Vegas to celebrate this coming Friday.  Dana's original wedding ring is made of stainless steel and therefore is unable to be resized. He hasn't worn it for many years as it no longer fit him. I had an idea to get him a silicone ring for our anniversary and thought I'd surprise him with it in Vegas. About a week ago, he shared with me that he had the same idea. I thought for sure I'd beat him to the punch and be able to surprise him after all, even though I knew he was now on the hunt for one. Whelp, the rings we each ordered arrived to our doorstep on the same day. :-/ So, that's out. If anyone has any recommendations for a backup gift, I am all ears. :-) Ok! Onto the Fourth. On Wednesday night we did some fireworks in our ya...
