Lake Franklin and Outside

A couple of mornings in the past couple of weeks it's been foggy over the river. So pretty.

As I started out on my run one morning, I was greeted by a rainbow...only then to get rained on the rest of the time I was out there. :-/

Clara was proud of this block tower she built at school.

Last Saturday we got together for our annual gathering at Lake Franklin. It was beautiful weather. We were just missing having my sister and her family there with us.

Clara entertaining Grandma. :-)

Clara was the only one who swam. She was having a grand time in there, wading around and getting up on the ladder all by herself.

Uncle Lester and Auntie Shelly came to spend the night with us on Sunday...and we were treated to Shel's famous chimichangas. Shelly made them up and Dana was the fryer, while Shelly supervised. So yummy.

Bed time story...and snack.

Clara "helping" me make supper one night.

They had a camping theme at school this past week. You can see Clara's actually holding a pretend marshmallow and poker and I think what must be the graham and chocolate square are behind her on the floor and the "fire" in front of her. Hehe.

Practicing braiding.

Clara loves to make (and also eat) scrambled eggs, so she was making some up for herself before preschool one morning.

Dana was looking pretty official now with the shirt he received from Fix It Forward, the automotive ministry organization that he volunteers with.

We headed out on the four-wheelers tonight to see how far south of town we could go. The mosquitoes were pretty ferocious unfortunately. We look a little break and Clara felt the need to strike a pose.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
