Fair + Father's Day

On Thursday night Brynn and I checked another movie off of our list: The Karate Kid. She liked it pretty well. Definitely a classic.

On Friday Brynn and I went back to Hurdsfield so we could go to the Wells County Fair. Dad and Clara went in the opposite direction to spend the weekend at Dead Lake. Actually, Clara had already gone ahead on Thursday to spend some extra time with Grandpa and Grandma.

We headed into Fessenden for the parade on Saturday, but we were early so Brynn and I stopped in the thrift store that my BFF Amanda and I used to frequent back in the day.

The telemarketing office where I used to work is now home to a fun little coffee shop as well as a couple of other shops. So, we also checked that out and Brynn got a smoothie.

Reagan and Ben rode on the 4-H float of champions.

Reagan brought her cat Marshmallow to show at the fair.

I had to make sure I got in on rhubarb fest. Oh man, it was so yummy.

The kids entered so many awesome projects for 4-H. I was glad I got to see them.

I love this picture of the girls. The girl next to Elise is her friend, Addie.

The Genesis was a popular ride.

We all came back home on Saturday night so we could celebrate Father's Day with Dana on Sunday.

After church we went out for brunch at Lucky 13's.

I got stuff done around the house while Brynn did some cleaning of her own and baked brownies. Dad and Clara played Nintendo.

I had picked out cards for Dana from the girls. Brynn's was quite fitting. :-)

We got Dana a traveling case for the four-wheeler. The girls wanted to see if they could fit inside of it.

We were FaceTiming with my dad and Seymour wanted to be on the conversation too. Hehe.

Yay! Throwbacks. 💓

We are so lucky to have now and have had so many great fathers and grandfathers in our lives. Happy Father's Day! We love you.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
