Brynn and Reagan had planned to attend Camp Cherith, a Christian camp that we had found when searching for summer camps, in Minnesota last week.
Brynn had been busy packing and getting everything ready to go right from Dead Lake last Sunday to camp, which is near Frazee, MN.
Our plans changed a bit with Grandma Darlene's funeral on Monday. I ended up taking them directly from Fessenden to camp on Monday, rather than on Sunday which is when drop-off was.
They were tired out from all the activity and emotions of the weekend.
Once we got to camp, the counselors welcomed them right in and got them settled in their cabin.
We were not able to have any contact with the girls while they were at camp and I was so anxious all week, wondering how it was going, and couldn't wait to hear all about it on Friday when Dana picked them up.
They did what sounded like some fun activities like archery and cooking over a campfire. Brynn said she had a good time and all the other girls, especially their cabin mates, were very nice. Though it sounds like neither Brynn or Reagan would opt to go back next year as the Crystal Springs camp that Reagan attends still beats out any other camp thus far, from what I hear. I'm glad that they were able to go together and that Brynn still had a good first camp experience for the most part.

Meanwhile, Clara went to stay at the lake with Grandpa and Grandma for a few days while Brynn was away at camp. Auntie Christel was there for a bit as well.
Since we were sans kids for a few days, we took the opportunity to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary which was on Saturday, June 26th. We tried out a new place called 701 Eateries on University Drive, up North on 7th Ave. It has a rooftop area called Camp Lonetree where we had homemade cheese curds and I started out with a rhubarb spritzer and Dana a local craft beer.
