September

Our neighbor Barb stopped over with some 'prizes,' as she calls them (aka cards with money) as a treat for the girls. Brynn made some cookies and Clara kindly took them over to reciprocate. The note she is holding is what we wrote out for her to say when she got to her house...about how we're thankful for such a good neighbor, I think it was. Ha - it was so cute.

Brynn and her friend, Brooklyn. They had an impromptu WEEKNIGHT sleepover one night a couple of weeks ago. She is so sweet and fun; we love having her over. Thankfully she lives nearby so she and Brynn can just bike back and forth between our houses. And to avoid riding the bus in the mornings, Brynn bikes to her house and they walk to school together from there.

Brynn was teaching her how to play Nertz.

A couple of weekends ago, Dana's parents came up to stay. Clara and Grandma made yummy caramel rolls for us.

Dana has been working a lot on the old '51, getting ready to pick up the body from his dad. He and Dana were working on it together when they came up to stay.

That same weekend Reagan and Elise were able to come and stay Friday night to attend a football game at Brynn's school.

Fall soccer has started for Clara. Dana isn't full on coaching this time, but has been filling in for the other coaches when they're not available.

That Sunday Brynn and I headed to Carrington to participate in the Walk Out of Darkness walk to fight suicide. It was a great experience and it was awesome to see how the community came together in support of one another.

Brynn shared with us that her sculpture piece from her clay class made it into the display case at school.

Sisters 💜💜

On Friday night Dana went out for a date night while Brynn watched Clara at home.

The next morning I left early for Vegas for a bakery trade show that we were exhibiting at for work.

I caught a glimpse of the Pillsbury dough boy there. Haha.

I had to go out for The Cheesecake Factory one night. So good!

We had a summer camp theme going on in our booth which was fun.

Dana left on Tuesday to Nashville for a work trip as well, so Holly came up to stay with the girls. They were busy making (the best!) applesauce.

All about Clara:

My parents, sister and I saw Jerry Seinfeld at his stand-up show again in Grand Forks last night. It was super funny and a good time.

Mom and Dad hadn't experienced Crumbl yet, so we stopped by there on our way into town.

Now that Clara is in second grade, she receives a Bible (the other one the kids get when they're younger is a book of select Bible stories).

They served lunch and then presented the Bibles followed by an ice cream social.

In the afternoon Brooklyn's sister, Rae, who is just six months older than Clara came over to play.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
