Memorial Weekend

Clara's teacher sent me this picture of Clara reading to her classmates one day this past week. 💜 I surprised Clara for lunch on Friday. We got to Dead Lake Friday night and Brynn, Dana and I headed out for an ATV ride to the access. Saturday morning Dana and I got up and going to Longville where my college friends were getting together at Jackie's house. We left the girls to hang out with Grandpa and Grandma since we were just going for a day trip. All the others did bring their kids, though, as they were camping out for the weekend. They stayed busy with some face paints...or what turned into body paint, I guess. What a good sport Katie was. They got out the guns and did some target shooting. Dana joined the kids' meditation circle. A rousing game of hammerschlagen.  When I saw the above photo (cred goes to Dana), I immediately thought of this pic of us from 2007. :-) The girls stayed busy and had a great day. Thanks, Grandpa and Grandma! We had Dana's cousin's s

May Things + Tennis Banquet

We're so glad the weather is finally nice! I loved this note. :) It gave me such a sweet chuckle and made me wish they could stay little forever.  Dana in all his yardwork glory. Last Friday I celebrated 20 years at my job! Throwin' in back to old country. Clara's class did a caterpillar project and just the other day released the butterflies that made it all the way through to that stage. Last night was a tennis banquet at Brynn's school. It was a potluck dinner with awards and a slide show. I enjoyed meeting the coaches and putting some faces to names I've heard Brynn mention. I can't believe the season is over already! The team did really well!  Brynn was one of the managers and Brooklyn played. One of the girls brought Capri-Suns for the potluck. haha. Love this picture. Poor Clara came down with a nasty case of croup on Monday and stayed home from school again today. She got some good rest so hopefully she'll get a good night's sleep tonight and be

Brynn's Confirmation

On Sunday Brynn was confirmed at our church after four years of confirmation classes. She had a really great group of girls she was part of with fantastic leaders. The fam was real excited to attend two church services, so I told Brynn she could choose where we should do brunch after our normal church service before we had to be back for the confirmation service. Our beloved Village Inn became a bank, but there is still one in Moorhead, so we headed over there. It was such a beautiful day so we waited for our table outside and were just visiting and messing around taking some pictures in front of this pretty tree and a lady offered to take our family photo for us. :-) Brynn's group and her leaders.  The students went up front to be anointed in oil and then gathered in their small groups for their leaders to pray over them. We had a little gathering at our house following the service. Thanks to Tessa for many of these pics! Brynn's godparents are Tessa (and Chad who was unable
