May Day + Birthdays + SD Visit + Soccer

I drove and Clara delivered a few May Day bags. She sure was speedy!

The newest member of the off-road/ATV fleet.

One of our XaBeaters and I have birthdays only a day apart and we typically have a theme for our 5:30 class for people's birthdays. Jim suggested ours be twins and we would be twinning and then everyone else could pair up and match as well. It was so fun to see what everyone came up with.

I had taken the day off of work and Tessa came up to spoil me with lunch at Plaza Azteca, a trip to Brewhalla and awesome gifts.

She just gets me. 💜

Oh and Tessa shared this blast from birthday past. I was trying to count all the candles and only came up with about 13, but I think I might have actually been turning 14 here.

On Friday I took another day off work and met up with Tessa in Jamestown and we road tripped down to see Shelly and Lester. After some recent health troubles, Shel is recovering in a nursing home. We were glad to see for ourselves how she's doing and how the nursing home is taking care of her. It all looked pretty top notch. We happened to be there during happy hour, but didn't partake. Sounded like things were gettin' pretty wild down the hall - word was they were serving real beer and all!

Shelly gifted this quilt made by our Dietz family friend many years ago. Brynn cannot have enough blankets in her life, so she is already cherishing it.

Last week we celebrated teacher appreciation with some flowers and homemade bookmarks for Clara's teacher. Brynn even got a Starbucks gift card for her fav teacher at her school (which is her English teacher).

Clara literally lost, as in misplaced, her last tooth that fell out. When she was cleaning her room, she came upon it and wanted to update the Tooth Fairy.

Spring soccer has now started for Clara. She has a great team again this time and they all work really well together. Dana is coaching again, but together with another couple who are parents of one of the other players.

Instead of deck dates now I make Dana take me out for an evening ride in the side-by-side.

Everyone has been enjoying it actually.

Tessa and the cousins came to stay with us Friday night/last night as Reagan had some softball games up here today. Some of us took in the "Are you there God? It's Me, Margaret." movie last night. We had all read the book in our younger years so we were excited to see the movie adaptation. It was so good!

Brynn braided my hair after we got home from the movie.

Clara had two soccer games today which were quite soggy. The girls powered through though and Clara scored multiple goals both games.

Trying to stay warm and dry.

Twinning sissies.

We celebrated my dad's birthday (which was on the 11th) at the Pizza Ranch after Clara's first game. Happy birthday, Dad!

Dad Chats while Dana was getting the ATVs ready for some riding tomorrow. 💜

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
