Football + Kohl's Trip + Kevin's Birthday Party

We've been trying to make it to as many of the home JV football games as we can as that's the team Hubert plays on (which are typically on Monday nights). A couple of Mondays ago, it was rainy so Brynn did go with her friend, but Clara and I opted to watch from the comfort of our couch. I'm sure it was pretty miserable. :-(

Well, Clara and I were reading AND watching the game.

Oopsies. Brynn's umbrella malfunctioned.

Clara leveled up again in swimming lessons and just started a new session.

We made a quick trip up to Kohl's Resort with the ATVs and had a great afternoon of riding.

The fall colors were starting to appear up there.

We were able to catch dinner with Christel and John before we head to head back home as I had to teach Sunday school the following day.

Brynn and Hubert double-dated with another friend couple downtown last weekend and apparently it was gaming day at Broadway Square and they made it into the newspaper. I was surprised to see them when I was reading Monday's issue that morning! haha. You can see Brynn and Clara (friend) in the background on the left side.

We went out on Sunset Road as I've dubbed it on the side-by-side on a beautiful night last week. It's this low maintenance road just south and west of the high school that we've ridden out to before and have seen other people pulled onto to watch the sunset. It's already starting to get darker earlier around here. (I'm realizing what a crappy photo this ended up to be - apparently no daylight and a moving vehicle don't mix for a good photo op. ha.)

All of last year I had wanted to attend a varsity football game at Brynn's HS and never did make it. This past Friday I was able to get over there for the last half. It was a beautiful night for a game, but I was a little bored all by myself and as we all know, I haven't a clue what's going on, so I was missing Dana. They won against West Fargo, so it was a fun game to watch anyhow.

On Saturday we celebrated Dana's dad's 70th birthday a bit early at the lake with a party. Thanks, Christel and Holly, for the pics!

Love this one that Holly sent me from Sunday morning. 💓

Clara and I bummed around down at the orchard for a bit Sunday night. It was another gorgeous fall day.

After last night's game. They won against Fargo North.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
