We did watch Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, but I had also wanted to see Garfield's Thanksgiving Special. Grandma is so funny.
They had a little fall party on Tuesday in Clara's classroom.
Wednesday everyone was off of work and school so we checked cleaning tasks off our list, earning points with each item completed. The winner was then able to choose where we went out to eat that night.
After we got done cleaning, we moved onto the fun stuff like cookies and Chex Mix.
Yay, Dana! He was the winner of the cleaning contest and chose El Agave. It hit the spot before we came back home to complete more Thanksgiving prep.
More Thanksgiving prep:
I didn't know if I'd be able to stream this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade live and I got up before it was scheduled to start, so I turned on 1987's parade. Wow, the quality was lacking, but they had great floats and why wouldn't I want to see Tanya Tucker perched atop a giant turkey!?
After I got a few things started, I was able to squeeze in a couple of classes at the gym. We were feeling pretty festive.
Mom helped me get Shadrach into the oven and then we started feasting and visiting.
Oliver and Clara had fun playing outside together.
Cheers to my best hosting partner! This year marked 20 years of hosting Thanksgiving for us.

Shadrach was looking fine!
Games before dinner.
We ended up eating dinner late and as I look back now through the pics, I think I can see where things went sideways. Too much Fireball!
I wasn't the only one though...
Chad was on corn duty.
The Master Gravy Maker doin' her thing.
Time for our Ribs vs Turkey photo op.
I can't stop chuckling at this picture. I don't even recall what Reagan was talking to Chad about. I think I was just trying to mind my own. Haha.
Pictionary Champs...obviously!
On Black Friday Dana replenished his wardrobe at Scheels with Tessa and Elise. Clara and I did a little shopping at the mall and then Holly took Granny Annie and Clara to Moana 2.
We still weren't ready to sit down and eat yet. We had to take more pics first! Ha.
I love how more and more people got roped into the photo. Hubert and his family were able to join us again this year.
I enlisted the help of Tessa to design my tablescape this year and it was the best decision ever. She put together and sent me two PDFs of options and linked everything so I could just click and add to cart! It turned out beautifully. And I'm able to keep it up past Thanksgiving and just remove the pumpkins for a seamless transition to Christmas.
Full table, full hearts. We were certainly missing Grandpa Don at the table with us this year. (Also pictured is the star side: Holly's mashed potatoes.)
Clean-up crew!
Yay, finally time for pies! Tessa made another show-stopping line-up of pies. The smart ones opted for a pie sampler to try a little of each.
More games!
Brynn had to work at Dry Goods in the mall, but not until later in the afternoon and the crowds had really died down by that time.
Dana pulled Oliver and Clara behind the four-wheeler.
Everyone took in a Force game that evening, except Brynn (who was still at work) and Tessa and me. We had a nice dinner out to Plaza Azteca.
What another wonderful Thanksgiving, and another year of so much to be grateful for. 🦃🤎
