February-March

We are still alive out here. I'm finally sitting down to do a blog update.

We had a get-together at our house with some of my friends from the gym. We usually do a theme of some sort and we went with breakfast for this one. And obviously we would wear our PJs then. Genius. We had an amazing spread!

My mom had given me a bottle of Rum Chata that she wasn't going to use, so I took advantage of that and make a Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink to serve. It turned out pretty good!

Our food contribution was chicken and waffles. Brynn did the chicken and Dana made the waffles.

Clara's class went to the fairgrounds for an ag education day.

Hanging with Brynn.

We three ate at Crave when Brynn was working one night. Always delish. The size of this chocolate cake was crazy.

Ahh, that new book smell.

Clara held a planet show for us after we were unable to view the planets that we were supposed to be aligned.

Brynn and I snuck in a quick afternoon of skiing at Detroit Mountain ahead of me leaving for a work trade show in California.

We had to make it back in time to head out to a Force game with Alex and Kaily.

Dana and Clara finished making a stand for the anvil that used to be Dana's grandpa Don's.

The view outside my hotel balcony in California.

Had to!

After I finished setting up our booth.

The hot tub was fine!

I saw this cat a couple of years ago when I was there (we always stay at the same hotel for this trade show) and he wouldn't let me catch him for a pet then either. :-(

Dana and the girls at Panera while I was gone.

The trade show we're at is a huge natural products expo and it's always interesting to see all the different brands and products that are there.

I was excited to try this - it was really good!

They offered morning yoga before the show started each day. It was a little chilly, but good.

Hahahaha. The booth across the aisle from us was Organic Valley, an organic dairy brand, and they had a real tractor in their booth that people could sit on and take photos. So, I had to do it too.

Clara made me this cat while I was gone.

Clara completed her last level at Foss. Very exciting!

Brynn's final product on a school work sheet she was doing.

A great day for flying her rocket kite.

Clara tried out for the West Fargo Flyers competitive swim team. Unfortunately, she was not selected, but one of the things she needs to work on was something that Foss doesn't cover, which is diving. I'm trying to now encourage her to do lessons through the Hulbert Aquatic Center (in West Fargo), which is where she did the swim team assessment and ultimately where the Flyers practice.

Silly friends. 💜

Bananagrams!

The girls both happened to have their hair in double braids one day, so I made them take a pic. :-)

Homemade pizza night!

Dana and I went on a Wal-mart date. We were trying to convince Brynn to meet us there to third wheel, but ended up bringing some snacks back for her instead.

My co-worker's cat, Scarlett, came to visit me. :-)

This past week was the girls' spring break. I took a couple of days off of work, one of which was Tuesday. We three got our nails done and then went out for lunch and a little shopping downtown.

I had to take a picture of this plant we saw in the plant store. I believe it's a Croton. We had the exact same one in my college campus apartment in Fergus. I always think of that whenever I see one.

On Wednesday I went to our plant in Valley City to take some video footage of our new retail line, so I had to get all outfitted since we're a food-safe facility.

Clara went to stay at Grandpa and Grandma Froemmings' for the rest of the week. Thanks for having her, Holly and Kevin!

While I was in California I came down with a cold which turned into a sinus and ear infection. I went to the doctor and was prescribed an antibiotic which only marginally helped. So, I went back on Friday when I had my other day off and got a different antibiotic and a steroid. I think this will help me turn the corner finally!

Brynn didn't have to work on Friday either, so she and I went to check out a new cafe we learned of, Moonrise Cafe. It was so cute and their food was really good.

One more day off tomorrow and then everyone is back to school and work. 💚

Oh my, lots to catch up on! Your entire breakfast spread looked delish. What fun. I, too, love the new book smell, Clara! Wow, she put a lot of work into her outer space poster - so cool and I wish I could have been at the show! The pickle juice product from the trade show looks like a potential Fear Factor Food Challenge item! So proud of Clara for trying out for the swim team. I hope she continues lessons; she seems to enjoy it! I like Scarlett's little bow :) It looks like you guys took advantage of spring break to do some fun things (except for being sick, boo!). I hope you are feeling better.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
