Clara's Piano Recital + Snow + School Program + Tennis Season

I had forgotten to post these pics of Brynn third wheeling with Dana and me to Plaza a few weeks ago.

I had had a hankerin' for a margarita flight, so Dana shared with me.

Brynn had a proficiency day at school last week and only needed to attend one class that day, so she tagged along with me to a Creative Mornings event that I usually go the last Friday of every month. It always takes place at the Plains Art Museum and they have a different speaker on a chosen topic/theme. They also have craft kits out that you can make a collage with while you're there. It was fun to have her with me and every time I go, I always think that she would get a kick out of coming with me.

Dana and Clara have recently gotten into Sudoku.

Brynn, Hubert and Clara horsing around together.

I was bummed that we ended up with 5"+ of snow last week, but Clara made the most of it. She made a snowman, which I did not get a photo of before his head melted off the next day. :-/

Clara pivoted and made some snow furniture with what was left of her snowman and the snow.

Clara started piano lessons again with a really fantastic teacher near our house. Miss Ainsley held a recital for her students on Saturday and the grandparents came to watch.

Later Saturday she had her friend Cora and her sister, Violet, over and Cora spent the night. They made pancakes for themselves before church and Sunday School the next morning.

Brynn and I trying out her new phone holder contraption that she bought.

Brynn was drawing on Clara's back with her finger and Clara would try to guess what it was.

Clara had her spring program at school on Wednesday. It was certainly a different approach than what they've done in the past, but still really good. You could tell they put so much work into the performance.

The music teacher said to take a good photo of your child before they started. Ha. So, I tried. There are four fourth grade classes at Clara's school. The program included all fourth grade students and they stood on the risers grouped with their other classmates.

Clara did a great job!

We had to stay to get some more pics..

Brynn's first tennis match for this season was this afternoon. She and her partner did pretty well, so I think they were happy with how it went. They played Fargo North High. And I should have taken a pic of us spectators as Dana was allowed to attend his first match! He technically wasn't "invited" to last year as Brynn is rather particular of how many people are watching her play. Dana, Clara and I watched her first set today (they usually do two total). Hubert arrived to watch so we tagged out with him and then left. :-) We're excited for her to be playing again.

Tomorrow is prom for Brynn's school and she is so excited to attend. Stay tuned for a prom post coming soon.

Happy spring...it finally is starting to feel like it!

Way to go on the piano, Clara! I love it. And all of the songs and musical instruments and what not for her school concert were so fun; sounds like spring! I, too, am excited to see Brynn back on the tennis court! Reagan told me she might get to come watch!!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
