Fall + Scouts + UND Visit

A couple of weeks ago Dana and I did a ghost tour in downtown Fargo. It was super fun and interesting as it incorporated a lot of Fargo history. It was still really warm out at that point, so it was the perfect time to do it.

I didn't eat dinner before the tour, so we stopped at Rhombus for some pizza and Dana did one karaoke song - his specialty by Tenacious D.

Chatting away.

We got Clara's Scouts uniform for her first pack meeting (which she loved!), so she and Dad had to sew her pack numbers onto her sleeve.

So official!

Ordering Brynn's cap and gown for graduation!

Friday Dana, Brynn and I had our tour scheduled at UND in Grand Forks. It went really well and Brynn was feeling very positive about the campus itself, dorms, student life/culture and the info we received about the psychology program. It was a beautiful fall day on campus.

After our meeting, admissions presentation and tour, Brynn and I hit up the bookstore and got our first piece of UND gear.

...which Brynn sported for the hockey game that night.

Reagan was able to join us as well - it was a great game. Reagan is Freshman in the nursing program. She took Brynn up to her dorm so she could have a chance to see a different building than the one we saw on our tour.

After a bit more thought, Brynn completed the admissions process to UND on Saturday night.

And will officially be a Fighting Hawk next year! We're so proud of and excited for her and know she'll do great. She's happy to have settled on a decision and feels confident she made the right choice.

On Saturday Dana and I rode the side-by-side over to Bear Creek Winery...in our vests. Haha.

Always a fun time there.

I'm still teaching Clara's Sunday school class on Sunday mornings, which is her last year before she'll receive her First Communion in the spring and start Confirmation next fall. This year Dana attends the service while Clara and I are at Sunday school, then Clara goes home with Dana and Brynn and I attend the next service. And then I hitch a ride home with Brynn.

Anyhow, Justin, the man who creates all the installations for the holiday services and the set for Vacation Bible Xperience also made these print and yarn pieces which hang in the hallways in the church. I noticed them as I made my way from Sunday school to the church service, so I snapped pics of a couple of my favorites. Justin is so talented and I always anticipate what he will do for each holiday's installation.

I had wanted to make knephla soup one day this week and as I was doing my meal planning, I looked ahead in the forecast to find the coldest day of the week, and even better if it had some rain forecasted as well. So, today was the day and it was a perfectly chilly and rainy fall day for a nice bowl of knephla soup.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
