February Recap

Brynn made some cute little clay creations.

Clara competed with her car in the Pinewood Derby for Scouts.

The next day Clara had her second swim meet for the Red Dragons at Brynn's HS. Brynn put together this treat bucket for her. 💓

I'm not sure if that's her in the water there as I thought this was a photo of her when I uploaded it, but I think it was a video and it took a still of that. ha. Anyhow, she did quite well this meet, so that was exciting.

Clara was invited to join the spring session of the robotics league at school. They are still working to finalize a couple more (adult) engineer volunteers so that they can move forward.

We had Clara's friends over to watch the Super Bowl and had some nachos.

Clara doing laundry.

Clara had her crossing over ceremony to a full scout from a cub scout.

The last group the scouts are in before they cross over is called Arrow of Light, so they were presented each with an arrow, the number of bands signifying how many years they've been in scouts.

Love this old photo of Grandma Dorothy (aka Grandma D aka Hottie Dottie) my mom shared with Tessa and me.

My parents' cat, Ninja, bellied up to the table for a snack. Hehe - she's so cute.

Last Friday we headed down to Florida where Holly and Kevin spend January and February in a condo they rent.

They rented a house right on the beach, and also right across from their condo, for all of us to stay in. The house was super nice and the beach and water were beautiful. We were celebrating Holly's 70th birthday which was February 4th.

The nighttime view from our window.

Holly gave Clara these heatless curlers for Valentine's Day and Brynn was helping her with them.

Holly and Kevin's condo complex has a heated pool and hot tub so we were able to use that as well.

Happy birthday, Holly! Thanks for having all of us!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
