March Recap

We had a soup potluck at our house with friends from the gym. So much good food.

....and drinks.

Brynn made a tres leches cake for us. Very delicious.

Jim is a Spanish teacher at the middle school where Brynn attended (and actually was her Spanish teacher). So, the tres leches was made for Jim especially as he just was awarded teacher of the year for all of Fargo Public Schools.

Clara playing games with everyone.

Unfortunately I took a tumble and hurt my back - I was at MN State Community and Technical College shortly after that for some mock job interviews with their students and saw this sign - gave me flashbacks.

Already it was time again for my California trade show. I was looking forward to some sunshine and warmer temperatures.

The trade show and I are the same age! This show started in 1981, just like I did.

Thankfully what made my back feel the best was walking, so that worked out walking to and from the convention center and then on my feet all day. The hotel I always stay at has a hot tub which felt great on my back at night.

Sometimes there are celebrities at this show. One of my coworkers spotted John Salley (ex-NBA player). I always watched NBA with my dad when I was growing up, so I had to snag a pic with him. He was really friendly.

The day I was coming back from California was Izabell's bridal shower. The girls were able to attend though which was great.

Clara will have her First Communion on Maundy Thursday. In preparation we had the instruction at church. They made a craft and went through the components of communion.

Doing some sewing with Grandma Laurie.

Amanda and I attended a 1920s-themed soiree for The Fargo Theatre's 100th birthday!

The girls were helping us get ready.

Candy cigarettes.

It was so fun. The food was really good and they had a photographer taking complimentary pics.

Trying on dresses for senior prom!

Clara made biscuits and put together this yummy plate for us to share while we watches the Oscars together.

The girls had their spring break last week and Clara went to spend a little time at the lake with Grandpa and Grandma Froemming.

Brynn went for a visit to Grandma and Grandpa Dietz's on Friday and did card making.

Clara then went with Grandpa and Grandma Dietz to visit Shelly and Lester.

Brynn worked the weekend and while Clara was in SD, Dana and I road tripped to visit our friends in Sartell.

It was a beautiful day out on Saturday so the guys decided to take advantage of the weather and play computer games outside. 😆

Clara and her accelerated literacy teacher matching in their Harry Potter shirts.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
