Holly & Kevin's 50th Anniversary + Father's Day

Last weekend we celebrated Holly & Kevin's 50th wedding anniversary. What an amazing thing to be able to celebrate that many years! They opened their gift from us kids which was a wooden framed map of Dead Lake. Our family friend came to take some pictures of all of us and then we headed to Phelps Mill  to poke around a bit more and take more pics. Thanks, John, for taking snapping a few of us - the sun was getting the better of the girls. We walked through the mill a bit and checked out some of the things on display inside. Shenanigans from one of the two cars we took to dinner. Holly had made reservations for us all at Thumper Pond (also where John and Christel got married.) We had a nice dinner and fun time chatting about how Kevin proposed to Holly and their early years together as well as us kids' proposal stories.  Happy Father's Day! The girls and I met up with my parents for lunch in DL on our way back home to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day as well. I prob...

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

School's Out!

That's a wrap on the 2024-2025 school year! Finally! I think we were the last school district to let out in all of North Dakota (tri-state area? the entire United States?) Anyhoo! Clara's class got to tie dye shirts during the last week of school and then had a snack picnic and played at a nearby park that they walked to. Clara's teacher put together printed photos for them to keep. The seniors at Brynn's school get to walk through the elementary schools they attended with their caps and gowns on. This is the group of them that came through Clara's school. Brynn is excited to go through her elementary school next year, which sadly is different than the one Clara attends, so they won't see each other. Clara has been riding her bike on the nicer days we've had. Last day of fourth grade! First vs Last Day Brynn's turn. Her last day of regular classes was Wednesday and Thursday she just had to go in for a couple classes. So glad to be done and moving on to ...
