Playing


Again one morning last week Clara wanted to come snuggle with us, thinking it was morning, but it was actually like 4:30 (which to me is basically the middle of the night). I am always so out of it when she comes into our room. I told her to go back to her bed, but instead she grabbed this afghan and pillow and parked herself on the floor. She slept for quite a while there; at least until after I had gotten up anyway.

Since both Brynn and Clara like doing hair so much, they decided last Saturday to open up a hair salon and do each other's hair. It was so cute.


















Apparently not impressed that I was taking pics of her.



This week was Dr. Seuss week at Clara's preschool. So, they had some fun with different dress-up days.

This one was wacky day.


This day they were supposed to wear pockets.



The girls decided to play hide-and-seek on Sunday night. Clara actually had Brynn going for some time with her hiding spot behind the curtains. It was so cute. Clara was so excited that she had found such a good hiding spot.


On Tuesday night the girls decided we should do a talent show. Dad was gone for his volunteer night at Fix It Forward Ministry and so it was just us girls.

Clara's talent was juggling...or attempting to anyhow. Not sure why she was wearing a Santa hat.



Brynn's talent was gymnastics, of course.



I'm not sure if the sound is loud enough to hear, but mine was playing the piano.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home.
