July Fun, Friends, Family and Fair

Last week Brynn was able to stay at Dead Lake to hang out with Grandpa and Grandma's neighbors' granddaughter, Margot. They had a lot of fun together, including sharing this amazing sundae from Applebee's.

When Brynn was at Dead Lake, Clara and Taylor hit up the zoo.

I was absolutely cracking up over this pic of Clara in the combine. When Taylor sent it to me, I immediately texted it to Tessa to let Chad know that Clara is ready to help with harvest this fall. 😂

Clara also had an overnight at Adria's house to celebrate Adria's 7th birthday. I got a chuckle out of the card Clara made for her.

Buddies in matching shirts.

I had bought this little movie projector that I intended to use for outdoor summer movies. So, Dana and I tried watching a movie on a deck date last week, which was all good and fun until the mosquitos drove us in. :-(

We met up with Brynn at Dead Lake to celebrate Froemming Christmas in July.

Clara's fav, turtle! A Froemming delicacy, turtle usually shows up along with the fish at the fryer.

We are excited that Auntie Elaine is moving back to MN!

How it started...

...how it's going.

Dad finally relented to Brynn mowing our lawn, though it wasn't as good of an experience for Brynn as she would have hoped. After a break and some dinner, though, it seemed to go a bit better for her. She's looking for some money-earning opportunities and thought this might be a good one for her. She thought it was more difficult with our mower and lawn compared to when she mowed at Weckerlys', but it sounds like she's going to stick with it. She, and all the farmers, are hoping for rain. ;-)

This week Brynn started the Junior Zookeeper program again and Clara is doing an Artmania class through Fargo Parks. Auntie Tessa was in town with Elise and her friend Addie for their Cobber volleyball camp, so auntie helped us shuttle the girls around to their activities while she was here.

It was so fun to have them stay. We made it to the pool on Monday night and then out for some ice cream afterward.

Taylor took the girls to the fair the other night and they had a good time.

Clara showed me all the creations she made at Artmania this week:

So much summer fun! The kids just mowed here yesterday; we should have saved it for Brynn haha. Thanks again for hosting us - everyone had so much fun! I love Clara's clubhouse drawing.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
