Halloween 2021

Some pics from throughout this past week!

We dressed up in some of my exercise classes. Can you spy me as the cow in the way back?

Clara's classroom was able to dress up in their costumes and had a party in the afternoon with some games.

At my office...

Clara's school held a fall festival out in the school yard last night. They had games and you could go trunk-or-treating with some cars there were decorated for each grade. Clara and I signed up to run the musical dots. It was such a beautiful night which made it even more fun. I loved seeing all the kids' costumes. We walked over and by the time we left to head back home, it was getting chilly without the sun.

When we got home, we snuggled in to all watch 'Teen Wolf,' the classic 80s version. Brynn thought it was ok and I think Clara liked it more than she thought she would. She seemed nervous that it was going to be scary.

On Saturday Brynn went to hang out at her friend Annabelle's house which turned into a sleepover. I snapped a couple of pics of them when they came over to grab Brynn's overnight stuff. They were Halloween prepping.

Brynn later sent me this pic of a make-up job she did on herself which I thought turned out amazingly! Very realistic.

In true sibling fashion, if one has a play date, the other typically feels she needs to get together with a friend as well. So, Clara was elated that Adria was available to come play. They really put on a show for me after dinner. So entertaining!

After Adria went home, Clara and I played a couple of rounds of hide and seek. I really stumped her with my hiding spot in the spare bedroom closet.

Brynn made herself a festive pancake this morning.

This afternoon our Xabeat (dance) class at the gym had a Halloween party. Everyone was dressed up and all the instructors coordinated as Skittles. I had to quick take a shot of Mike Myers there in the middle of everyone. It was so hilarious.

For whatever reason I didn't get very organized to do my Halloween preview photo shoot this year, so Clara obliged me while I was waiting for dinner to get done. Her costume turned out great! Thanks to Weckerlys for furnishing the helmet to complete the look. Brynn wasn't very interested in doing pics this year, so I wasn't able to get any of her.

Resting up before trick-or-treating...

One of the XabBeat instructors made these fun cookie treats, so I served those for dessert tonight.

Clara and I went to Barb's (our sweet neighbor who puts together all these treats for the girls for Halloween) before we got going trick-or-treating for the night.

We invited Adria to come trick-or-treating, so Clara was waiting outside for her to arrive.

Ready to go!

Our first stop was my boss's house. Clara loves to visit her on Halloween.

Brynn didn't end up feeling into going trick-or-treating, so Clara shared her loot with sister. 💜

Great post! Love all the costumes and festivities. Brynn's makeup did turn out really cool! And a fantastic pumpkin pancake; I would take one of those. I love the in-action TOTing photos of Clara & Adria. How fun they got to go together.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! January + Valentine's Day + CATS!

We ARE still alive over here and have not frozen to death. Here's what we've been up to for the past month and a half! Brynn and Hubert at the OG (Olive Garden): 'Lady and the Tramp' style. haha. Taking in a Force game...with extra fighting. It was very exciting. One Sunday when Clara was at a sleepover, the three of us went to Black Coffee Waffle Bar after church and then for some crepes and boba at Tea & Crepe. Then Brynn and I went prom dress shopping which was really fun. She did find a dress she loves so that was a relief. This is not the one she chose, but she tried on quite a few nice ones. Clara made crowns for the king and I (me). Clara had to write an essay to be considered for the robotics team at school. She waited for at least a couple of weeks to learn if she was accepted, and unfortunately was not. She was pretty disappointed, but she does have a chance to reapply next year when she's a fifth grader, and won't have to write another essay. I th...
