The Spaghetti Story

Working up an appetite for lunch...with the scarf on, of course. "I've got the strainer!" "Like this?" "Mmmm, spaghetti!" "All done!"

The Scarf

Ever since Brynn received her stethoscope for Christmas, she has been obsessed with putting things around her neck, including this scarf. If she finds it somewhere in the house, she'll put it on and just go about her normal activities, as you can see below. We kind of get a chuckle out it. Here are some other fun things she is doing now... 1. She's starting to say actual words now...up, bye-bye, da da. 2. If you ask her where her head is, she'll put her hands on top of it. (not every time, though, so I'm still trying to figure out if she really knows that it's her head.) 3. Throws and rolls her ball to me and likes to "catch" it, too. 4. When I squeeze out lotion from the dispenser and rub my hands together to apply it on her, she rubs her hands together, too. Then tries to squirt out more. 5. She tries to feed her baby doll by smashing the bottle to her dolly's face/mouth area. 6. Also tries to put her own socks and shoes on, but doesn't realize i

Flashback

I was thinking about all the (8,000+) pictures I've taken of Brynn tonight, and have always thought these were my favorite. You might remember them from a post back in September when she was 8 months old. I just loved the poses in a lot of them, along with how green the grass was and the red of our neighbor's house in the background. So I went back to look through them and found some others that I hadn't posted before. It's kind of fun to see how much she's changed. She lost those big cheeks!

Staph Infection

Sorry to disappoint...no pictures this time! I think this is the first time I've posted just text on her blog since she was born! Anyway, just thought I'd do an update on Brynn's health issues for the week. Her croup seems to be getting better. She is just coughing now, but not wheezing anymore. The last day of her steroids is tomorrow...just in time to start antibiotics for a staph infection! Remember the "raging diaper rash?" Well, that resulted in a staph infection in her diaper area. Poor 'lil thing. Hopefully this will all clear up soon. I've gotten a few calls and e-mails from family members as a result of yesterday's post, so thanks for all your concern and support for Brynn! We do appreciate everyone thinking of her. I'm sure she'll be all better soon. And she did get quite a few valentines today. So, I'm off to go raid the candy stash! Also, if you are bored and really looking for some reading material, here is a short list of the

Bare Buns

Poor Brynn has had a rough week already. We took her to the ER on Sunday night because she was wheezing and had a terrible "barky" cough. They said it was just a viral respiratory infection. So, that seemed to be a waste of 3 hours. :-P Then, Monday morning she was actually worse. Dana took her in to the peds walk-in clinic and they diagnosed her with croup. So, she is on steroids for that, which do seem to be helping. Meanwhile, she has developed this raging diaper rash, so I was trying to air her out the other day. I just can't get enough of her naked thighs and buns! I know the quality of these pics is lacking, but I think you'll get the idea. :-) Tomorrow is the Valentine's party at daycare, so hopefully Brynn will get a lot of Valentine's.

Susie B Photos

Last week we had our pictures taken at the Plains Art Museum by Susie B Photography. She did such a great job! If you'd like to take a look at the gallery, go to www.susiebphoto.com and click on PROOFING. The password is froe.
