'The Smurfs', BFF Reagan, Rheault Farm Fall Festival

What another busy, but super-fun weekend for Brynn. On Friday she trekked to Hurdsfield for a movie and sleepover at cousins Reagan and Elise's house. Auntie Tessa took Reagan and Brynn to see 'The Smurfs" in the movie theater. I talked to Tessa at about midnight on Friday just to hear all the hilarity that ensued during their 'date.' We were laughing so hard. Reagan and Brynn each refer to other as each other's best friend now. It's so sweet.

Saturday Brynn came back to Fargo with Grandpa and Grandma Dietz. We went out to eat and came home where Brynn could show off her tap dancing to Grandpa and Grandma; and then tell all of us to 'settle down.' :-)

Today we went to the Rheault Farm Fall Festival. It was gloomy, chilly and rainy this morning, but you wouldn't have known it by the afternoon. It was perfect weather. Brynn rode the barrel train, went on a carriage ride, decorated a cookie, visited the petting zoo and went on inflatables. It was so fun. When she was riding the barrel train, she actually thought she was steering the whole train. Ha. She was really concentrating.

We all took a nice, long nap afterward. Apparently Brynn's baby did, too. She told me her baby, Olivia, just woke up from a nap. So, I asked her how long she had slept. "Ummmm, about four miles," she said. I'm still trying to figure out if that's a long time.

Mama even got to hold a bunny.

The keeper!

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

September

When Brynn was in 8th grade, their class wrote letters to themselves that they would open once they were seniors. School staff must have sent them right to the high school for safe keeping because a few weeks ago, Brynn got hers back and read through it.    I had perfect weather for visiting a grower with my drone for work last month. Clara spent a night at Grandpa and Grandma Dietz's and did all sorts of activities. Family walk! Brynn ran into this bunch shopping at the mall. 😄 I was so tickled to get this pic from auntie - as much as Brynn was to bump into them. This nomad cat has been showing up around our cul-de-sac, but he does not like me, unfortunately. :-( His tag even says that he's not lost, he just likes to roam. Ha. (I only know that because he actually let our neighbor catch him.) Clara and I have been going to some Davies football games while it's been so nice out. Brynn has been accepted at both NDSU and UND. Yay! We visit UND next Friday, so it will be inte...
