“Let the children
come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.”
As we were walking out of the preschool room last week, Abby, one of the teachers at Brynn’s preschool, mentioned she was just talking about Brynn to another staff member. (I was hoping because of something good, and not bad, of course!) And she says to me, “I just love Brynn’s faith.” She proceeded to tell me how Brynn tells them when she’s working on something that God is helping her and when others are struggling with a task, she encourages them and says, “you can do it. God is helping you.” We have noticed Brynn’s strong faith and love for Jesus around home, of course, but it was so sweet to hear it coming from someone else, too.
From
baptizing her Baby Hazel to telling God, “I love you and I’ll miss you until I
get to Heaven,” it is so neat to watch such a little person grow in her faith
so much. She once told me that God says we should help others and so she
thought she should be a nurse to take care of sick people. I hope she
always has these same thoughts and feelings about God.
One of the best things about being a parent has been teaching our
child about God. Children seem to have such an innocent and literal way of
looking at things, and she just believes, no questions asked. (Well,
I shouldn't say “no questions,” because she is ALWAYS full of all
kinds of questions about everything.)
We have been really pleased with the preschool program and the
staff at Hope, as their Christian-based teachings have seemed to bring out her
faith even more. And now that Sunday School has started back up again for her,
she is excited about going to that, too.
"Isn't that special?" LOL. Sorry; I couldn't help but think of the "Church Lady" after I wrote this post :-)
