Princess Makeover Birthday Party

Tonight Brynn had her friends party at our house. She invited Rosha and Haylie whom she knows from preschool, and Karlie, our family friend. I was pretty much laughing at them the entire time because it was just so funny to listen to them interact with each other and the things they would say. Brynn said she had a great time. We  had lasagna and corn with garlic toast; Brynn's favorite, and then the cupcakes that Brynn and I made earlier this week. Brynn wanted it to also be a princess 'makeover party,' so all the girls were in princess gowns, tiaras and we did their nails with glitter polish. The girls also received lip gloss in their party favor bags. Brynn had also wanted to "Just Dance," so after they played a bit, they rocked out to the Wii. Man, did they have some moves! That was pure entertainment for Dana and me for a half an hour solid. They all knew all the moves and the words to every song!

Here is the video of Brynn blowing out her birthday candle.

Tomorrow we'll be gearing up for round two with the family party on Sunday!

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

September

When Brynn was in 8th grade, their class wrote letters to themselves that they would open once they were seniors. School staff must have sent them right to the high school for safe keeping because a few weeks ago, Brynn got hers back and read through it.    I had perfect weather for visiting a grower with my drone for work last month. Clara spent a night at Grandpa and Grandma Dietz's and did all sorts of activities. Family walk! Brynn ran into this bunch shopping at the mall. 😄 I was so tickled to get this pic from auntie - as much as Brynn was to bump into them. This nomad cat has been showing up around our cul-de-sac, but he does not like me, unfortunately. :-( His tag even says that he's not lost, he just likes to roam. Ha. (I only know that because he actually let our neighbor catch him.) Clara and I have been going to some Davies football games while it's been so nice out. Brynn has been accepted at both NDSU and UND. Yay! We visit UND next Friday, so it will be inte...
