Last Day of School

Today was the last day of Kindergarten for Brynn. She was pretty excited, as it sounded like they had quite a few fun things planned. She even got to have a PJ day, I guess! And then at HopeKids they got out the swimming pools.  She has one day off with Daddy tomorrow before she starts the Hope summer camps on Monday. They run weekly with a different theme each week.  I thought her bus driver was really great. He was so friendly. Getting on the bus for the last time as  Kindergartner. *Sniffle!* Playing Chutes and Ladders with Daddy tonight. On Tuesday Brynn will start piano lessons with Miss Penny! She only lives a block away from us which will be nice and handy. We went over to her house this past week to get the low down on lessons and meet the teacher, Penny. We don't have a piano, but will start out with a keyboard...as soon as I find one. I was trying to snag one off of Craigslist, but am not having very good luck so far. Brynn really seems to

Memorial Weekend

Waiting for the bus one morning last week. She did her own braid. Three more days left of school! Chalk face I think this is supposed to say 'spring,' but I liked the apple tree. We spent some time at Grandpa and Grandma Froemming's cabin this past weekend. They've done a lot of work in there and it looks great. Our friends Chris and Ashley stopped out for a visit with their new baby. Brynn's 'smore' which consisted of some melted chocolate and graham cracker. Dana dutifully roasting marshmallows for all of us. That red mark on her cheek is the result of a hula hoop encounter (from another kid) at school on Friday. It looked pretty painful! Grandpa caught a turtle! Brynn was in the midst of coloring (marker still in hand) when we ran out to take a look. Returning the turtle back to the water. Malt time! Playing Play-Doh this morning. Yes, we did let her out in the front yard looking like this. ;-)

BUMPdate: 29 weeks

I've now hit my third trimester! I'm in the home stretch now...sort of. I had my last check-up this past Tuesday. Everything is looking good, except when I did my glucose screening to check for gestational diabetes, the level was  little higher than the normal range. So, tomorrow morning I need to do the longer test which includes fasting for 10 hours prior and then the three hours during the test. Needless to say, I'm not really looking forward to that again (I had to do that when I was pregnant with Brynn, too), but I am hoping for the same outcome to find out that I do not have gestational diabetes.  I did start a weekly progesterone shot at my last appointment. I will now be going for check-ups every two weeks, so I'll just go into the clinic on my 'off' appointment weeks to get the shot. They usually give this shot to women to have previously delivered a pre-term baby. Since full term is 40 weeks, Brynn was considered pre-term when she was born 35 week

Talent Show, Wedding and Birthday Party

Friday was the HopeKids After School Program Talent Show. Wow, what a talented group of kids. There was singing, dancing, gymnastics, magic tricks, science experiments, drawings and more. It was so fun. Brynn and her friends Rosha and Lily did a singing and dancing combination to "Let It Go" from the movie Frozen. Here is the video:  Talent Show Performance . Brynn was very passionate in her performance, I thought. :-) She did really well. I know they practiced a lot. Afterward they served root beer floats. Yum!   Some recent drawings. Every day she is drawing or writing something. I love to see what she comes up with. Tinkerbell I liked this one because she labeled everything she drew. he he. Dana was an usher in his good friend's wedding this weekend. Brynn had such a good time attending the ceremony, and of course, the dance. She really latched on to another one of Dana's friends who was also an usher. Too bad he's already married.

Spring Program, Mother's Day, Grandpa's Birthday

Friday afternoon was Brynn's Kindergarten Spring Program. They performed the "10 Little Ladybugs" book with songs in between. That morning Brynn complained of a bad stomachache. I thought perhaps she was just nervous for the program, even though she had been talking about it excitedly all week. She did look a little nervous during the program, but she did so well. She had a speaking part and unfortunately the mic somehow got turned off, but even in the back we could hear her speaking. We went and picked her up in her classroom and I couldn't get out of there fast enough...I got so emotional at the end of the program, especially after Brynn's speaking part. Ugh. I had my Kleenex out as soon as we bolted out the door. Brynn and Dana didn't know what to think. Too many hormones, I think! Ha. We were so proud of her, though. We spent the weekend with my side celebrating my Dad's birthday and Mother's Day. Grandpa and Grandma had gotten
