BUMPdate: 29 weeks

I've now hit my third trimester! I'm in the home stretch now...sort of. I had my last check-up this past Tuesday. Everything is looking good, except when I did my glucose screening to check for gestational diabetes, the level was  little higher than the normal range. So, tomorrow morning I need to do the longer test which includes fasting for 10 hours prior and then the three hours during the test. Needless to say, I'm not really looking forward to that again (I had to do that when I was pregnant with Brynn, too), but I am hoping for the same outcome to find out that I do not have gestational diabetes.

I did start a weekly progesterone shot at my last appointment. I will now be going for check-ups every two weeks, so I'll just go into the clinic on my 'off' appointment weeks to get the shot. They usually give this shot to women to have previously delivered a pre-term baby. Since full term is 40 weeks, Brynn was considered pre-term when she was born 35 weeks. So, this shot will hopefully keep the bun in the oven!

Otherwise, I am feeling good still; my body just gets tired and stiff when I try to do things around the house or what not. Baby girl is still pretty active. I thought it felt like she had the hiccups this morning.

I tried to paint my toenails by myself this weekend. Wow, that was an adventure. Ha. Good thing no one else was around me to watch that spectacle.

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
