Waiting

Now that we're done traveling on the weekends while we're waiting for baby to arrive, we've been able to get caught up on a lot of things around the house which has been great. It makes us feel even more ready for this baby to come! Well, at least me anyway.

The past couple of weekends when we've been home, Daddy has served us up pancakes made-to-order! Mine was chocolate chip and Brynn had hers with  M&M's. Yum.

It was a perfect night outside one night last week and Brynn and Rosha were able to reunite in the park to take advantage of it. They sure do miss each other.

BUMPdate: 38 weeks!
Well, here we are at what feels like the bitter end. At least we've made it this far which is 2 1/2-3 weeks longer than with Brynn. I had my last appointment this past Tuesday in which I was dilated to 4 cm. I feel like the baby has dropped now, and my doctor was able to confirm that she is definitely lower than my last visit. I have more lower back pain now and my Braxton Hicks contractions are definitely more intense all the time.

Grandma Holly is on standby, I've download a contraction counter app onto my phone, and bags are packed! I go in again tomorrow, so we'll see if anything has progressed further since last week. I think every day I show up again at work my co-workers are surprised to see me. Ha. I guess it could be any day now, but that's the hardest part....just not knowing when.

They put out a sheet for guesses at my office. Gene in our crop production department crossed out his own guess - he had 8/10 down and explained something about it being a full moon that night and the gravitational pull being at its strongest, etc etc, but then I guess he said he realized I wasn't going to make it that long and he crossed out his guess. Ha. Apparently my own guess was just wishful thinking. :-)

Bags packed!

In my comfy clothes for a lazy Sunday.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
