Home Sick

Yesterday I had taken the day off to be at home with Clara, but Brynn ended up sick and stayed home from school with us. She still stayed pretty busy for not feeling the best. We made some cut-out cookies and played games and she did some crafts, of course. She went back to school today and seems to be doing better now.

She made this campfire yesterday when she was home. The paper towel holder rings are log benches. I loved it!

The other day she also made a board game together with game pieces. She didn't have a chance to make the cards to go with it yet though. We had just gotten done playing a game of Sorry yesterday and then happened to be talking about her game (which she named Action) and she all of a sudden starts up an announcer-type of voice, like a commercial and says..

"...new game Action brought to you by...(and then she kind of trailed off like she couldn't think of who the maker might be.) Pick it up today at Wal-mart or Sam's Club. Doesn't have cards yet, but if you have 'Sorry,' just use those cards." hahaha. I was laughing so hard.

Brynn was out in the garage tonight helping Dad on the four-wheeler. How much do they look alike in this picture!?

She checked out this 3-D book from the school library. Pretty cool. She keeps trying to scoop up whatever she sees on the pages. Ha.

Merry Christmas! The holidays just aren't complete without some ugly sweaters! This is at my office. We had an office/cubicle decorating contest and an ugly sweater contest. I did not win at either, but we did catch a pic of the four of us who donned ugly sweaters today. Mine was a loaner from the lady to the left of me. She actually did wear this for real back in the 90s, she said. :-) Mitch (the lone guy in the pic) had brought in this portable fireplace for his cubicle to try and win the contest for decorating...which he did. Karmell to the left of me won the sweater contest.

I just love Brynn's creative mind! What a hoot at your office. You look fantastic in that sweater! Great photos! The girls look so sweet and yes Dana and Brynnie look alike on the 4 wheeler for sure. :)

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Reagan Graduation + MDW + Tennis

This past weekend our oldest niece, Reagan, graduated high school. She will be attending UND for nursing in the fall. We're so proud of you and love you so much, Reagan!   Cousin Cayden had his Italian soda bar set up at the party which was super fun and a big hit. She opened a few gifts the night before her commencement. Reagan is the third generation to graduate from Harvey High as my mom and her dad, Chad also attended there. This was such a fun gift idea that Tessa put together from her and Chad. We got back home Sunday evening and between the four of us doing different things, spent most of Memorial Day outside. It was such beautiful weather. Brynn and I played tennis and Dana and Clara replaced some shrubs and did yardwork. The tennis season has wrapped up for Brynn now. She's sad to not be playing anymore, but still gets some court time between playing with friends and sometimes Clara and/or me. We're so proud of her and glad she played again this year. I had taken s...
