Happy Birthday, Cousin Benjamin

On Friday Dana picked Clara up early from daycare as they called me and said she wasn't feeling very well. She ended up spiking a fever at 101 on Friday night. Overnight that night Dana also came down with a sore throat. Cousin Benjamin's birthday party was yesterday, so just Brynn and I made the trip to celebrate with him. Hopefully Dana and Clara will be back to 100% very soon. The nice weather today sure helped, I think.

Birthday boy Benjamin with his cake. His theme was Berenstain Bears. We love those books at our house, so we thought it was a really fun theme. The cake was so delicious.

Uncle Dana wanted to pick out his gifts for him, so it was even more of a bummer that he wasn't able to make it the party and see Ben open the gifts. We gave him a real wrench set and a tool box.

Well, it did actually get above 70 degrees as forecasted today. It was great, but pretty windy, unfortunately. Clara was born when it was warm out in the summer, but since she was so new, we didn't have her out all that much then, except for a few walks in the stroller. Then it was fall/winter, so today was the most she's really been outdoors. And she didn't really even make it out of the garage because it was so windy and bright for her. I set up her pac-n-play in the garage and she was pretty happy to watch Daddy and Brynn and the cars driving by. Not sure why I had that hat on her at first since she was just in the garage, so I took it off shortly after I took these pics.

Looks like we're going to roll through another year with training wheels here. :-) Dana already tried to see if she would allow him to take them off. Nope.

so sweet

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
