Easter 2015

Tessa and the kids came up for the day on Friday since there was no school for the Easter holiday. I ended up taking the afternoon off of work which was great. On my way in, though, I already spotted two Easter bunnies. Fat ones! One was still sitting there as I was leaving at noon.

Some pics of Clara that I took Friday afternoon..

She gets her front half of her body pushed up like this and then pushes herself to the sides and backward, but doesn't get up on all fours at the same time yet.

Cousin Reagan and Clara

Reagan was able to spend the night at our house on Friday night since we were headed back to her house for Easter on Saturday. The girls had fun watching a movie together on Friday night. And more movies in the car on the ride to Hurdsfield. As per sleepover usual, I'm sure they didn't get all that much sleep.

Tessa had an egg hunt all set up by the time we arrived...

Uncle Chad helping Brynn find hers.

Brynn, Auntie and Benjamin made homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast this morning. So good!

Playing Hot Potato with Grandpa.

Tessa also organized a scavenger hunt for the kids. Such a fun idea. They all got a really big kick out of it. They went through the clues to find the chocolate bunnies in the pantry at the end.
Elise getting ready to read the first clue.

Oh! Who's at the door?

Yay! It's the Easter Bunny. Bless my grandma's heart for dressing up. We love you grandma and so appreciate that you still do it!

I think Benjamin thought maybe the bunny looked familiar, but couldn't quite put his finger on it. He he.

Who's this?

So excited for her first Easter!

My sister hosted another wonderful holiday! Thanks, Tessa and family. Hope everyone had a blessed Easter. Brynn has tomorrow off, so Dana is home with the girls, but I will be back at work.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
