More Early Halloween Festivities...

Today we had our Halloween costume contest at work and also awarded the winner of the office/cubicle decorating contest. Here are some pictures of our fun from today. In case you can't spot me, I borrowed Brynn's Maleficent horns and went as the scary witch myself.. I am to the right of the bunny, in front of the cupcake in the bottom row. The bunny did a wardrobe change into Snow White later and won third place, Karmell the cupcake won second and the garden gnome in the middle took first. That scary head thing next to the referee is not actually a person, but part of the decor. The cupcake and the nun won on the collaborative decorating effort. Their decor is everything that is behind us as our backdrop. It was just fantastic. And so much so that no one else felt they could top it and they ended up being the only ones who decorated. So, they took first, second, and third on that prize! We all got in front of the backdrop for individual pics as well. Later in the...

HopeKids Halloween Party

Today the HopeKids ASP had a Halloween Party for the kids. Brynn said moms could come too (although I didn't receive an 'official' invite from the staff). So, Clara and I kind of crashed the party as it turned out I was the only mom there really! There was one dad who was there as well, but I couldn't tell if he had been invited by his child or if he just came at the time of the party to pick his kid up and ended up staying. Ha. It was fun, though, and so nice of the staff to do something like that. The students are not allowed to wear their costumes at Brynn's school, but they do host a Halloween party in the evening where they can wear their costumes, typically somewhere near the 31st. This year it is on Friday and I think Brynn does plan on going.  Anyway, on to the pictures! They played Candy Corn Bingo for some fun prizes: Clara didn't want to be missing out. All the 'school-agers' seemed pretty enamored with her. Brynn dre...

Fall 2015

This past weekend we got together with Dana's family at Uncle John and Auntie Christel's house in Bemidji. It was the first time we had all been together in a while, so we took the opportunity to officially celebrate Papa Kevin's birthday. Brynn helped blow out candles, of course. Happy birthday, Grandpa. Saturday morning Grandma had a project ready for Brynn. Grandma had baked cookies and brought the goods to have Brynn frost them. They turned out great. Finger-lickin' good. :-)  It was a beautiful weekend, so yesterday we took a walk through  through the trails on Uncle and Auntie's property. The previous owners had quite a few deer stands in the woods there and Brynn had to check them all out. Brynn wanted Auntie to get her a cattail, but it was too wet down there. Uncle John was kind enough to take some family photos of us in hopes of having some good shots to use for our Christmas card picture. Since this one is just o...

Halloween Preview 2015

Brynn's Second Grade school photo. Love that smile! What a beautiful day it was to be outside yesterday. It worked out so nicely for the girls to paint their pumpkins outside. Yay - no paint mess in the kitchen! Brynn helped Clara with hers. Today was a really nice day, too, except it was super windy. Helping Daddy The girls and I went on a walk to collect leaves to make a homemade leaf wreath. I was going to get a pic of the finished product, but Brynn said "later" when I asked then we never got around to "later" apparently. It did turn out cool though. Time for a snack! Playing cards with Brynnie. She didn't want me taking her picture at first. Classic eye roll. Whoop! Whoop! It's that time of year for Halloween Costume Preview! My lil elephant and Maleficent from Disney's "Sleeping Beauty."  So as not to leave you with that sad bab...
