More Early Halloween Festivities...

Today we had our Halloween costume contest at work and also awarded the winner of the office/cubicle decorating contest. Here are some pictures of our fun from today. In case you can't spot me, I borrowed Brynn's Maleficent horns and went as the scary witch myself.. I am to the right of the bunny, in front of the cupcake in the bottom row. The bunny did a wardrobe change into Snow White later and won third place, Karmell the cupcake won second and the garden gnome in the middle took first. That scary head thing next to the referee is not actually a person, but part of the decor. The cupcake and the nun won on the collaborative decorating effort. Their decor is everything that is behind us as our backdrop. It was just fantastic. And so much so that no one else felt they could top it and they ended up being the only ones who decorated. So, they took first, second, and third on that prize!

We all got in front of the backdrop for individual pics as well.

Later in the afternoon everyone's kiddos started arriving to 'trick-or-treat' at the office. It was so cute seeing the little ones dressed up too. My two are to the left, kind of in the back.

I tried to put Crazy Clara to work while she was the office, but instead she wedged herself in between two cabinets. :-)

Tonight was the Fall Festival at Brynn's school. Since they aren't allowed to wear their costumes to school during the day, they hold the Fall Festival in the evening and everyone is welcome to wear their costumes then. We played Bingo first while we ate pizza and then Rosha showed up, even though she goes to a different school now! So, Brynn was pretty excited about that, as she was just lamenting on the way over how she wished Rosha could be there tonight too. So, they played some other games and danced at the dance a little bit.

I think we should have dressed her for a monkey for Halloween instead of an elephant. ;-)

Friends at the dance

Brynn helping her teacher with a game at the end of the night. She won the lanyard and t-shirt playing games.

It was such a nice night, so Brynn rode her bike home and I walked. Hoping for great weather again tomorrow!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
