We made it out to the park one evening for a quick trip. It doesn't take long before it's dark these days. Usually it takes us so long to make, eat, and clean-up supper, there isn't time for much else before Clara needs to take a bath and get to bed. She seemed to have a good time and Brynn had fun showing her the neat playground things.

With some of the money Brynn saved up, she bought a candy bar kit thing on Saturday. Basically you melt chocolate into a squeeze bottle and squirt it into different molds, then add nuts, pretzels, peanut butter, candy, etc, to make your own candy bars. She thought it was great fun. Mom thought it was messy. :-)

It had still been pretty nice out lately, so Daddy and Brynn have been making it out for their daily bike ride. Poor Clara gets left behind, though. She kept licking the door and saying "ma-ma-ma-ma," which means "more," or what she says anytime she wants anything.

Little moocher today. Clara appears all done with her own food and gets down out of her high chair, begs to be in my lap so she can try and steal what I'm eating. Again...'ma-ma-ma-ma.'
I thought it was a lot colder outside today than it actually was. So, we ditched the blanket about halfway through our walk.
I love to become one with the landscaping and kick, throw and eat rocks!
While Clara and I hung out at home today, Brynn and Daddy went to Granny Annie's birthday party celebration at Grandpa and Grandma's cabin in the woods. Brynn had such a fun time playing with cousins and riding Cookie, the horse. Dana said "too bad your parents don't have horses anymore; I couldn't get Brynn off this horse." Hint, hint, Grandpa and Grandma Dietz. ;-) (Thanks for the photos, Grandma Holly.)

These two were both beat when they made it home from the birthday party tonight.
Clara is such a little mother to her baby. Lately now she started wrapping her baby doll in her little blanket. She even lays out the blanket and folds up the sides over the top of the doll. It's just amazing to me what she picks up on. She seemed to be getting frustrated with her little blanket not being large enough for her baby, so I went and found an old receiving blanket that we had used for the girls for her. No good. I wrapped her baby in it to show her and she immediately unwrapped her and put her little Kleenex of a blankie back on her.
She also likes to make the baby clap her hands.
Last night she had even wrapped up a Barbie in her blanket and was rocking her. Ha.
I just love Brynnie working in the kitchen with that chef hat - ha! If she doesn't pursue a career in food - I'm sure it will be a big hobby for her. Loved seeing lil Clara today - she's so sweet!
Right before Christmas break was done, Brynn and I went downtown to Nichole's for some graduation planning. Making lefse! Clara finished up her time in robotics league with a presentation of the robots and mission that she and her partner/friend, Elizabeth, had been working on. Here's a video compilation of two of the missions they presented. It was so cool. I especially liked the one that picked up the rocks. Some of Brynn's recent drawings. Bedtime snuggles. 💜 I was messaging with Clara's teacher to see if he could let her know that Brynn would pick her up from school one of the very cold days last week. He wrote me back to confirm Clara received the message. I asked Clara when she got home if she wrote that last sentence. Haha. I was in full fall mode watching 'When Harry Met Sally" in my turkey leg slippers the other night. Dana and I went out to eat at Granite City on Friday night and I think I found my signature cocktail for Christmas. It's called Snow on the Beach and it was so pretty and tasted really good! Saturday morning Clara had her piano recital and did a great job! Thank you to sister Brynn and the grandparents for coming. After lunch with everyone (family, not the other piano students), she was off to the next thing which was a Scouting event at NDSU. She had to miss the morning session because of the recital, but in the afternoon they made a tool box. It turned out great. That night we had the XaBeat (the exercise dance class I go to) crew with spouses over for a little XaFriendsgiving. It was super fun. Dana mixing up old fashioneds. Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home.
