Deer Hunting, Date Night/Grandpa & Grandma's House

This year Dana got his deer license and was able to hunt with Chad out in Hurdsfield. So, we girls headed out as well to visit while the guys hunted.

Panoramic taken by Dana. It was just so "North Dakota" to me.

We had a fun time with the Weckerlys, as usual! I found myself in a kinetic sand competition with Ben and Elise. It was pretty cutthroat, but super fun.

Reading buddies

Ben and Clara being silly together. I think Ben was playing peek-a-boo with her.

These three amigos were let loose in Tessa's kitchen (bless her heart) and were making some Special K bars. They did a great job with making them and taking turns, but sadly the actual finished product ended up rock hard for some reason. :-(

Tessa and I are forever trying to get a good cousin shot and kudos to Tessa as she finally did it! I just love this one of all of them together.

Saturday night was Family Fun Night at the Community Center again this year. Clara had so much fun in the bouncy house/ball pit.

Mmm, ice cream sundaes.

So precious. Grandma Darlene let Clara put some of Clara's lip gloss on her.

Grandpa and Grandma were on their way back from the lake on Sunday and met us at The Ranch for supper. Brynn was impressed with how tall Grandpa can get his ice cream.

We have sure been loving these nice fall temperatures!

Brynn practicing her cursive.

Brynn's teacher recently took a trip to New York and brought each student in the class back a chocolate Statue of Liberty. Choco Lady Liberty is still siting in our fridge; I think Brynn is afraid to 'ruin her.' by eating her. :-)

In Brynn's class they decorated pumpkins which apparently became their children. They completed these little 'baby pumpkin books,' with the 'birth announcement' and a story. Ella turned out pretty cute and she is still sitting on our front step.

Brynn has created about three Christmas wish lists now, and this is another one that I recently found. I think the water tower trip should be pretty doable!

Since Brynn didn't have school on Friday, the girls headed to Grandpa and Grandma Froemming's for a couple of nights. So, Dana and I headed out on Friday night for a date night. We ate at Sammy's pizza, a little dive downtown that I had been wanting to try for a long time. It was just the ticket. They were playing oldies on the TV and it was really quiet in there. And the pizza was good too.

After pizza we went to Blarney Stone Pub for our fav dessert in town. Yum.

Then we ended the night with a movie at the old Safari 7 theater where we were two of five total people in the theater. :-)

Of course the girls were having their own fun at Grandpa and Grandma's. Grandma Holly texted me this pic of their fort.

Brynn was to come back today just in time to attend her friend's PJ/movie birthday party just a few houses down from ours. However, she ended up not feeling well and stayed home. It seems she may have caught a flu bug, poor thing. We're hoping it passes through quickly.

While I was at it taking pictures of sleeping children, I couldn't help myself with this one. It was so cute how she is touching kitty pet in her sleep.

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
