Building Projects, Fargo Force Game & Cookie Baking

Brynn and Daddy working on some building projects with the set we got Brynn for her birthday.

We are still loving these warmer temps we've been having lately!

We got tickets to the Fargo Force hockey game for Saturday night. It happened to be Hometown Heroes night where they were honoring any service and armed forces personnel. It was great.

It was Clara's first hockey game. Everyone started out on the edge of our seats.

On our way into the Scheels Arena, Brynn was all excited because she wanted to meet a police officer. I told her there would be many of them inside as it was the Hometown Heroes game/night, so she would probably have a good opportunity. She and I went to get her some Dippin' Dots after the first quarter when she spotted a few officers. So, she walked up to this one (Officer Eric Sorenson of the West Fargo Police Department) and introduced herself. He was standing on kind of an elevated platform, so he said he would come down and talk to her. She stuck out her hand to greet him and he asked her several questions. He was very nice and Brynn was excited. I told her I was so proud of the way she introduced herself and shook his hand and everything.

There was a giraffe loose in the house this weekend. Sometimes it even roared like a lion; very peculiar.

Oh wait, it was just Clara. :-)

We thought this afternoon was a good day to bake some chocolate chip cookies. Yum.

Aw, way to go, Brynn. She looks so excited! And what a good kitchen helper you are, Clara.

Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...

Halloween 2025

Happy Halloween! We did trick-or-treating at my office again and celebrated National Cat Day a couple of days late. Unicorn making magic happen! The kids and Freddy. We got a little bit of a late start around 7:30. We went to a neighborhood near the high school where several of Clara's friends live. We stopped at Micah's house to say hi and another schoolmate happened to be over as well. We got to visiting too long and by the time we headed back out, some houses either had run out of candy (including Micah's, where they went through 600 pieces his mom said) or were already done for the night. But, we still got around to several. It had just gotten done raining and the wind was cold, so I didn't care to be out too long myself. Clara asked to have another post-Halloween party this year and Brynn planned and executed the whole thing. One of our fav parts was the missing children posters which were all the guests. Green Army Man, Clara Barton, Luna Lovegood (from Harry Pott...

Christmas 2025/New Years 2026

Christmas gift wrapping shenanigans: Keeping Brynn company while she wraps all of our Christmas gifts. Brynn and I couldn't help but peek at the 150 Famous Poems book we gave to Clara. So many good ones. Getting into the holiday spirit at Courts Plus. Ha! Christmas eve brunch. Clara's gingerbread house contest strategy notes. Contestants were allowed 20 minutes to shop for their houses at Wal-mart. We left ourselves little time to get ready for the 3:00 Christmas eve service at our church. But, we made it and thankfully didn't have to sit in the overflow area in the chapel! It was a beautiful service. We had bit more time in between church and when we planned to leave for Tessa's, so I mixed up my eggnog and we got the car packed. Tessa's family hosted Christmas eve at their lake home. We had a great mix of people to play a game of Mind the Gap. Getting cookies ready for Santa. Clara got Dana and me up around 7:30 and we watched her open her stocking. I think Dana a...
