Play Time

Brynn pointing out her artwork at HopeKids ASP.

I had been looking forward to this weekend of just bumming around and relaxing at home a bit. Dana went snowmobiling for the day on Saturday, so I took the girls to Barnes & Noble in the morning. Brynn had gotten some gift cards that she wanted to use there. Clara and I patiently waited while Brynn perused. Clara had found the book she wanted right away. And then sat down next to this herd of dinosaurs to read for a bit. I think they were part of the story time.

Brynn loves Legos as much as her daddy and has gotten a few of the Lego Friends sets now. I am kind of liking the change from princess overload to woman superheros and Legos.

Horsing around while Clara was napping...

When Clara did wake up from her nap, of course she was ready for a snack. She asked for an apple and then sniffed out some cookies and wanted one of those too. So, I had that all in one bowl and noticed the lone cookie remaining in her dish. I thought to myself how great it was that she actually ate all the apples first!

....until I stumbled across this next. :-/  Ha. It went undocumented, but honestly she did end up eating most, if not all, of the apples later on, and the cookie lay mostly untouched in her bowl. She is a good little eater.

Finally we had some nice weather to go outside and play this weekend.

Brynn and Clara playing 'night, night,' as Clara calls it. Basically where Brynn is the mom and rocks Clara, then apparently stuffs her into the doll pack-n-play. Fun times.

Brynn and are in the throes of an ongoing Scrabble game.

The girls discovered the fun of sliding down the stairs today. Clara is forever "me too!" ;-)

Love them all! Great outdoor pics. That one of Clara stuffed in the pack n' play is hilarious. Looked like she was going to go head over heels down the stairs!

More Graduations + Start of Summer

A couple of weekends ago Clara had a very busy, but fun Saturday with her friend Cora and her sister, Violet. The sisters' dad took them to the Breakfast on the Farm near Hawley (We had gone many years ago. Clara was so little, she didn't remember it.)   They also stopped at the dirt track races on their way back into town and then Dana met up with them at MSUM so they could go to the oceanarium there. We had never been before, but it was on our "Moorhead List" of fun things to do in the 56560 zip code. So, check! Out on side-by-side rides any chance we get. We parked on Sunset Road, as we've dubbed it, to watch the sun go down. There is usually one or two other cars parked on this low maintenance road whenever we venture down there. Clara into her granny hobbies. :-) We attended the last of this year's graduation parties over the weekend. I went to one in town on Friday night and then Clara and I stopped at Karlie's party near Fergus Falls on our way to Z...

Easter + April Birthdays

The girls had Thursday, Friday and Monday off from school for the Easter break. So, Dana and I took most of the same time off (work) to match.  Always reading. 💜 Hanging out with Brynn. 💗 Dana and I went on a Costco date. We tried our hand at homemade ravioli again. I think it went a bit more smoothly compared to last time. Hubert's sister Abby stopped by for a visit. We hadn't seen her in a long time and so it was fun to have her We celebrated Dana's birthday and kicked it off with some Sandy's donuts. I don't recall what was so funny. haha. Clara's card. Birthday King Clara dyed eggs. I baked a birthday cake for Dana, messed it up getting it out of the pans, and Clara somehow cobbled it together into a masterpiece. Dana chose Lucky 13's for dinner out. On Saturday we packed up to hit up Oliver's birthday party before we went on to Dead Lake for Easter. Oliver is 9! Fourth of July 2025

We were able to spend the Fourth at Tamarac again this year, with my sister and her family.  We arrived just in time for Brynn to change into her tennis outfit for the boat parade float. Their theme was sports this year. Clara and Oliver caught candy from the dock. This was the first Fourth of July holiday spent at my sister and Chad's own cabin on the same lake that Chad's parents have their cabin. Clara brought my mom one of her favs, Tootsie Roll. We were also celebrating Mom's freedom this holiday...from working on the Fourth! For the past how many years, Mom has had to work the Fourth of July parade back home in Carrington. However, this year as she is preparing to retire and training in her replacement, she gave the parade reins to her successor. It was great to have both Mom and Dad spend the Fourth with all of us together. It was just like old times when we all gathered at Terry and Wanda's for lunch though. I made a new recipe for dessert: red, white and blue c...
